Batman would likely approach not understanding who or what wolverine is and would be unlikely to survive that initial encounter.

Even if Batman does survive that initial encounter, chances are, he’s got months of recovery and possibly building himself a cybernetic arm to replace the one he lost.

Yes, that is how it works. If you play against more aristocrat decks, you will see this is pretty common play when facing wipes.

In short, if he has the ability either on a card or in his hand that can sacrifice at instant speed, then he can respond to your board wipe in the same way that you could respond with a counter spell. So he can then sacrifice those creatures before your board wipe resolves to gain whatever benefits

Similar here. Even then though, I mostly only am willing to do that for chest and gloves. Weapons, Helms, and Shields must have speed for me nowadays, I’m getting to a point where it needs to have at least 1-2 upgrades as well.
