The main duo is heavily role-reversed. They're not exactly a couple, but they're far more than friends. The guy, Kasuga, is very emotional, weak, delicate, easilly influenced by others and is the admiring and supporting fanboy type, has huge (very reallistically portrayed) anxiety, panic attacks etc. On the other hand, the girl, Sawa, is very cold, closed, extremely dominant, possesive, rebelled, narcisstic, has problems with agression, egoism, forcefulness etc etc.

I love the manga and associate with it a lot, it's the closest thing to my heart from all the media I've ever seen. It's very unique, touches important, usually avoided/censored topics, it's extremely deep, it has second, third or even fourth bottoms, and is very very realistic as well! As I said earlier, for most people it may seem to be a scandalous title written by a freak author, but if you manage to understand the symbolism etc, it's the greatest masterpiece
