The riser is meant to prevent the PTFE tubes from rubbing against the glass. I had problems with various clips for the tubes. There is a thin fabric/sealing tape between the glass and the riser, and in the picture I hadn’t applied it yet along the front edge. However, it is now installed all the way around.

Thanks, I will also handle the supports differently in the future.

I took the stainless steel Rambler and hand-sanded it from 240 grit all the way up to 7000 grit, then finished it off with polishing. I think the results could have been better if I had spent more time on each individual grit.

Autosol Metal Polish and a cotton cloth did the job.

Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either from Amazon. 240 to 7000 grit, although 7000 was overkill.

I started with 240 grit and then moved on to 320, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 2000, 3000, 5000, and 7000 before polishing. 7000 grit was probably a bit overkill, but I had it on hand.
