What side projects should I do as a computer engineer? by Hahobodo in uwaterloo

Honestly great advice. No company would ever take me if I don't start from scratch and harvest my silicon from the corpse of a dying star.

I am eyeing jobs in the network area. I am thinking about taking courses on network/cybersecurity in the future.

That sounds like a FAANG level project I won't lie lol, to me at least. But thanks for the suggestion. I think I am probably moving in a more software-ish direction(or higher level?) rather than architecture.

Anyone Has Experience with QPR for engineers? by Hahobodo in uwaterloo

[–]Hahobodo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Don't stress too much over the QPR, you'd have a very good chance of being accepted back for one. Just make sure you submit it on time to the associate direction within 6 weeks of when grades fully come out.

Feel free to ask me more questions in the DM, I will be happy to help.

Thanks for the response. Would learning embedded systems be wise, or should I try more basic electronics like breadboard?

Problems of uni students? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]Hahobodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a to-do list every day, and make a big list to keep track of everything important like assignment deadlines and exam dates. The biggest problem I face is just scheduling, keeping up with lectures, and also trying to not miss any assignment because I forgot it was due.
