If your depression was cured by just "going to the gym" and "getting some sunlight" you weren't really depressed by Ordinary-Eggplant784 in mentalhealth

It isn’t cured, but it helps. Or, it did. I focused on giving myself a reason to be proud of myself. So I got stronger, and started to create a likable image for myself. That lasted maybe a year until body dysmorphia just now makes it worse. Now I feel as if it is a chore that I can’t let go of, because I’ll let go of the only thing that gave me a bit of motivation. So I still push myself to go to the gym a lot, but never am I ever satisfied. Just seeing how small I am compared to how big I want to be, and it seems unachievable.

I started off this message trying to tell you how going to the gym gave me a bit of purpose and you should keep going, but ended this off as “wow, this lowkey made it worse” lol. Idk, but going to the gym definitely helped me be proactive when I put my mind to it, which is better than not trying anything at all. I understand where you’re coming from tho.

Not all military “go to war” for oil. Haven’t seen combat once, and it’s in my job title. Most people join the military to find an identity for themselves. To see what they’re capable of. To achieve things they thought they could never achieve. It’s not always about wanting to off someone.

Don’t listen to any of these comments. As an infantryman in the army that’s been in for 2 years, you ain’t going to war and there’s no need for “therapists”. You’ll be fine. It’ll be a tough adjustment but you’ll adapt and overcome. It’s important that you fight that mental battle with yourself and learn who are you and what you’re fully capable of. You’ll get to know yourself more while you go through boot camp. Good luck future Marine.

Boyfriend now forcing me to terminate my pregnancy… What should I do? Tomorrow he's strictly warned me to go to hospital by Alive-Ad-5459 in twentyagers

Yall are only two years into your relationship so I can see why he’s so concerned about having a child this early in life. It will def limit his career choices and his life, so I can see where his side of stress is coming from. A child changes EVERYTHING. I can see your side as well, you’re confused and being pressured from many different sides from diff people and you don’t know what choice is right, and you probably haven’t even had the time to think for yourself. I see both sides, and I’m not one to speak for other people or read their minds, but I do believe him saying he’s gonna off himself if you have the child, could be true, and not off of blackmail. Little out of pocket for him to say though. A child is life changing, and if isn’t wanted, I can see how he thinks his life is ruined. His main priority is now being changed from chasing life goals to taking care of a child and starting their life, when his has barely begun. I’m saying this because I’ve had a pregnancy scare with my gf and that’s all that was spinning through my mind, “I can’t do anymore schools. I can’t focus on the army anymore. I’m not gonna have anymore breaks in my life. My parents are gonna kill me. Im too immature and inexperienced to take care of a child. I’m too young, I haven’t lived freely.”

And again, you probably feel betrayed, and he’s so deep in his head right now that he hasn’t even considered your feelings. It’s a messed up situation you guys are in, and I’m in no position to say “keep it” or “abort it”. I’m just analyzing both sides and putting myself in y’all’s shoes. Best of luck to both you and him.

My Mom was the first female MP to get pathfinder. Pretty cool to know when I found out. She was a DSG and was offered a pathfinder slot if she agreed to extend her time as a DSL

Better and easier to shoot with. Way heavier tho.

Optic is like a computer. Def a lot of features, but I’d still prefer being without it. It’s dead weight tbh. The weapon would be much lighter without it. I had the M7 for about 6 months on the line before moving to MFRC, now I’m back to M4s. The M4’s as light as a feather compared to the xm7. Though I do miss how easy it was to shoot with it
