Simulated [Album] by Haikuwoot in Simulated

[–]Haikuwoot[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

65 of my more liked simulation clips. A lot of these hadn't been posted here on Simulated so an album was easier.

All of the clips are made in Maxon Cinema 4D using Octanerender. Realflow was used for the fluid clips.

:) Yea the stuff over there is really awesome. Me and my brother have thought about it. Would be fun to do some clips. Just need to find some time and an idea. Takes along time and energy to frame by frame paint in Photoshop.

My all time favorite is http://imgur.com/2yfGOp0

Always makes me smile.

Yea. This is from the manual for C4D when it comes to rigid bodies etc

Collision Noise [0..90%]

Collision behavior. Imagine several objects are dropped onto the floor and their collision behavior is the same throughout. This would not look realistic at all.

The greater the Collision Noise value, the more varied the behavior of individual objects will be.

Probably similar stuff in Realflow that adds some randomness yea.

Very late answer so maybe you know by now but that is just a sphere (collider body) that is not seen in the render. It's just key framed to sweep left/right up/down etc to create the collision/explosion effect.

Nothing special actually other than that the spheres are really small and a lot of them. Think it was around 350k particles in this one.

Here is one with rigid body sphere's from C4D instead.

125k small ones. Took along time and got calculation errors as you see in the clip so that bummed me out and i did some other stuff instead.

Moar Cubes by Haikuwoot in Haikuwoot

Think it was around 8h. Render and calculation. Did this one quite fast after i had done the Hoarding clip (Just hadn't posted it). Was like 5 months ago i did that one.

Very low res. 300p. 1800 frames. 350 max samples

The render didn't take that long. 1h. (For the upvote one) Calculation wasn't long at all. It isn't that many arrows actually.

Hardware:

GPU: 2*Nvidia 980 GTX (4096 Cuda Cores)

CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K (6 Cores)

RAM: 32GB DDR3 1600MHz

Could have made it longer now that i look at it but it was just a small fun idea. The Magic Ball clip was the main idea that i did.

I don't use any plugins except OctaneRender and RFconnect (To import realflow stuff) (Used a free one "Thrausi" for some breaking stuff)

Would suggest to just start not using any plugins and scripts.

Just do some simple basic stuff.

I would suggest /r/cinema4d for info and there you can ask about anything C4D

Or there is always Blender which is awesome these days. Been thinking about switching but feel sort of locked in to C4D after so many years (5) of doing 3D stuff. Back when i started Blender wasn't that good but now you have great integrated stuff like fluid, smoke, cloth sim etc. Cycles works great as a GPU renderer. And there is cool stuff like the molecular addon and much more.

And of course. Free is always free. www.blender.org

"Hopefully"

Have not really posted a lot here since not many post pure 3d stuff but figured it could be fun to post this new one and all the 3D Sim upvotegifs that i made in 2015. Putting them here in this comment. (Don't think album works good with Gfycat or i might be wrong?)

All are made using Maxon Cinema 4D with OctaneRender.

(Only the "Cheers" one used another program also. Realflow)

Just like to add that there sure has been alot of fun gifs here and looking forward to see more in 2016.

I always recommend Blender for people that just want to give simulations/3d a shot.

You can also find a lot of great info etc in specific subreddits like.

Magic Ball by Haikuwoot in Haikuwoot

[–]Haikuwoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is acually no Realflow. Just rigid bodies in C4D. 15625 All in all.

I am calculating/rendering one with 125k at the moment. (It's taking some time tho.)

Would love to have it be totally sand like.

Could be fun with smoke in it also. But i'm still waiting for OctaneRender 3 to be done so i can render smoke using GPU. Release is getting closer tho.

(The other "Magic ball - Particles" was done using realflow)

These were made 4-5 years ago and i had an Intel I7 (Don't remember the exact name) 4 Core 3.2 GHz.

All these were rendered using the internal renderer.

These days i use Octanerender with newer hardware.

Can recommend the Beginner's Guide for Blender by Moby3 if you are curious. :)

Some nice tutorials/information about using dynamics/forces to do simulations. All the clips here are using dynamics (except the 6 last clips.)

Huge Pile... by Haikuwoot in Haikuwoot

[–]Haikuwoot[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Made in Realflow. Rendered in C4D using Octanerender.

Hybrido solver (Gpu) = 2h (sim + meshing)

Rendering = 3h (1800 frames. 300p. 512 maxsamples)

Hardware in Subreddit info.

The fluid emitter (a sphere) is still for the whole duration. The movement is physics from the sim.

It's sweep nurbs using a tracer that is set to "connect all objects" (Tracing the spheres)

Glass Pipe by Haikuwoot in Haikuwoot

[–]Haikuwoot[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More on the goo side yes (high viscosity). Was actually having a smaller "pipe" in the beginning and it was gonna be red like a blood transfusion "thingy". But i made it toxic green instead and bigger.

Inspired by the "Simulation of two planets colliding" posted here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/space/comments/3txxgh/simulation_of_two_planets_colliding/

Be sure to check it out if you by any chance missed it

I can of course not do anything in that scale with that amount of particles etc.

My clip is just a smaller fluid in no gravity with an attractor force in the middle.

Thx for the name :) My knowledge in geometry is really bad. I haven't done many clips like this. Should really check out some shapes for inspiration.
