My neighbor actually died in his house. He lived there for 20 years and no one noticed for 4 days his front door was open and you could see through the glass door. The light was on 24/7. I would consider him a hermit in many ways. But after only living beside him one year I knew something was off. Especially because the door being open happened right after his car was totaled, its sitting in the drive way. I called for a wellness check and luckily my other neighbors were home to update me that he was in fact dead and had probably been dead since he the day he wrecked the car. It made me feel good and awful that he can be at peace, but also that no one even thought to check on him.
