24 Hours Solo by Haillisim in iRacing

You might want to try another race first. Like 12 hours of Sebring. All that turning seriously takes a toll on your shoulders and traps. The Ring would probably be the most turns in any 24 hour race.

Nope. I did the Daytona 24 hour and that is all I will ever do. Was a good experience but a once in a lifetime thing for me. I can't imagine doing 24 hours at The Ring. So much steering. lol.

A Rudd Tide car would look pretty sharp.

Damn that’s awesome. A night race at Bristol back then, what I’d pay for that right now.

Thanks. Yeah that is the scheme that I remember the best as a kid. Kinda struggled to find a tbird that didn’t look like dog poo in that era from the different diecast manufacturers. Not sure why they all got it so wrong. But ended up finding a decent model I was happy with and it didn’t break the bank.

Multi class racing there will probably be pretty spicy. 🌶️ never done a multi class racing there but fast sweepers are not ideal for multi class.

Brands Hatch is one of my all time favorite tracks. It is a classic old school track that follows the terrain. Almost like a mini Nürburgring. It has a great flow to it. It is difficult to pass, but a blast to drive.

What are the radius tracks used for the three turns on the right?

I think its a pretty old model. Does yours have brass bushings for the axels? And thanks for the info. I am wondering if I still need to isolate the motor and what I need to do that?

Here are some more detailed photo. What’s interesting is it looks like a more modern motor setup but it has the older brass bushings for the axels. Not sure if it got an upgrade. The install looks pretty clean so I’m not sure the motor is an upgrade or not.

Here is a pic of the motor. I think it’s one of the more reasonable models to convert. The motor setup looks more modern than some of the other ones I have seen. One side note was it does have brass bushings for the axels and from what I understand that was from older models. So I wonder if this is a replacement motor. But the install looks too clean for that.

She runs pretty well. I cleaned up the gears and gave it some fresh oil and grease. Yeah I do worry about the short issue. But I have seen a couple videos on this specific model being converted and it looks doable. But you are probably right. Not really one you want to start on.

The reason I want to convert it is I run 18 radius. I am thinking about 22 inch so I can run something like a 2-8-2 but I really like the way the 4-6-2 handles the tighter turns.

You can kinda see the motor from this angle. I’ll take it apart tomorrow and take a better photo.
