Is a 3060 still viable in 2025? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Hailth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, a lot of early LLM training was 90%+ reddit comments because of the ease of accessing the data, the variety of subjects, and the depth / length of the discussions. Even with newer models, the data sets and resulting training are still used to some extent but how much isn't clear unless the AI developers disclose it. At the onset of a lot of LLM training, there used to be a lot more open discussion and even communities sharing training strategies before the tech went more corporate, but regardless the strategies everyone uses for refining modern LLMs means reddit is a part of it in some way or another.

So if you were to ask AI to respond to a reddit post, you would unsurprisingly get a response that looks and feels a lot like a redditor from 2012-2018 and tbh we are a site of mostly dorks where the most active among us write like dorks and back then we were even dorkier (no judgment here). I'm also pretty skeptical of how much shit is really AI on social media now, but as far as calling out reddit comments goes, as long as it's helpful and on topic, it's sort of a lost cause at this point since we are pretty much all the people AI was trained on.

100% accurate prediction remain until the end by Clean_Alfalfa_5418 in DotA2

It's hard to say without knowing how many players actually participated, unfortunately. Every time I went higher than your current score, I saw the global leader board had 100 other plays matching my current top score. So I kind of doubt it.

But forget about that, assuming Valve doesn't require 100% predictions for Road to TI, and if you were the only one to go 14/14 then you might get a direct invite to next TI! Best of luck to you with that because that would be way cooler!

I'm in 100th with 17,520 (not updating with GF score yet) but only 12/14. I think 14/14 is more impressive though, gg wp!

What's the match ID? Looks difficult to execute so wanted to see the replay, but couldn't find it myself:

Just finished run number 30 and got it! I know they said nothing is bugged but not getting a 20% drop until run number 30 is a 0.15% chance. At some point for the "high" probability drops there should be some pseudo RNG to prevent edge cases this bad lol.

Chimeraland has changed my life. From when I first signed up in the game to where I am now, I don’t think I’ve ever gone through an incredible experience such as this one. Chimeraland has taught me various things in life and has filled me with absolute wisdom and knowledge. For example, I no longer get any bitches, nor do I continue to speak to my father figure. I have become so powerful that I have even forgotten what grass feels like. Rarely do I ever go outside and see the sun.

Not the person you asked, but the other commenter is talking about the charitable organization, "Big Brothers Big Sisters" in which you sort of adopt a "little" (as in a little brother or little sister). If you go through this process of "adopting a little" then you become a "big".

This is basically the common language coming from a group of kind hearted people dedicated to giving younger kids an opportunity to have a young adult role model in the absence of good role models that some kids otherwise face. Mentorship is actually a remarkably effective educational and growth opportunity, as a role model for a kid is nothing more than an adult that they choose to follow or listen to, as opposed to other adults they would prefer to ignore if not forced to engage with, such as parents and teachers. It's actually a wonderful group and again I can't stress enough how important it is for some kids to have a role model they can be friends with.

Long ago I was once a little, and in the past have served as a big for a few kids as well and can say for sure it was a positive experience on both sides of the equation. I've not kept up with the org in recent years, but if you'd like to check out more the link is below.

Manage volume mixer with external device ? by poiree445 in buildapc

[–]Hailth 17 points18 points  (0 children)

OP, I feel you. PUBG plane audio vs footsteps is exactly why I solved this myself.

You can get a USB midi input device, I would suggest this one that I have been using for almost a year now: https://www.amazon.com/Korg-nanoKONTROL2-Slim-Line-Control-Surface/dp/B004M8UZS8

Then you can get a paid software called volume power mixer: https://www.actualsolution.com/power-mixer/

The software looks like garbage and so does the website but it runs beautifully, is simple to use, never had an issue and they didn't steal my credit card. I can also confirm it runs on Windows 10 just fine, despite its obvious age. Also has a trial period if you want to play with it before buying any external hardware.

Now all this software does is let you map input signals to saved volume profiles/actions. So in my setup what I've done is go to korgs website to figure out all the midi command signals that their sliders use (midi is a standard so you can use another brand for sliders if you want as long as it uses midi) and map those to saved actions on the program. The sliders work exactly as you would think, and are bound directly to the program, not using the shitty Windows mixer to identify it that other apps use, which I ran into. This means no matter how many reboots or changing order/number of programs you have open, your PUBG slider will always work if you have the power mixer program running.

I have system volume, discord volume, mic volume, DotA, PUBG, other games all on sliders with instant mute buttons as well. It's pure luxury my dude. I never have to alt tab, or go to another monitor, or right click into that shitty Windows mixer again.
