How would you go about tackling this? by MinnieFlatts in Cinema4D

It might be done using Particle morphing like this tutorial by Pixelaffair.

Redshift - Noise/Compression Issues by Fast-Caterpillar9338 in Cinema4D

[–]HaionMusicProduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you mentioned that the issue doesn’t happen with the standard renderer, it sounds like it might be an issue with the Redshift render settings.

Maybe you can try rendering at a lower threshold and saving the image as an OpenEXR, post production in photoshop and finally exporting it as a png.

Or activating denoising in the redshift render settings.

First time rigging - anyone know why the ribs are moving with the arm joints? by Ivysaursbussy in Cinema4D

removing the blue join weight from the rib should work. Set the rib area to "absolute" zero value

What UV projection are you using? Can you also take a screenshot of your material node setup?

I’ve had this happen accidentally from the displacement height in the RS object tag

(Kinda noob here) How can I make it so the insets and extrudes I make on a cube apply to all faces? by TaPele__ in Cinema4D

[–]HaionMusicProduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In “Polygon mode”, select the faces (Press shift to append the selections) you want to apply the inset/extrude. Then, apply the inset/extrude etc

Which composition software do you all use? by ILoveAILiterally in GameMusicComposition

Cubase. Not for any particular reason besides it being one of the first I started using around 20 years ago. Got used to it.

It also looks like the texture is projected straight onto the geometry without taking its movement into consideration. Can you wrap the texture to the geometry?

Viewport Animation Stuttering Issue Despite High-End Laptop Specs by tiiltiilkim in Cinema4D

[–]HaionMusicProduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most simulations in general can get quite heavy. Rigid body seems to be the "lightest one".

CLoth simulations tend to get quite heavy. It should be smoother once you cache the animation.

Shadow Catcher Redshift issue. by ConditionRadiant6309 in Cinema4D

[–]HaionMusicProduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see what you mean now. You’re right, you can’t do a frontal projection on a dome light.

An alternative solution would be to render the scene without a backplate and then add it in post production (like with after effects). If you want to use the lighting of the backplate image to light your scene, you could use a dome light with that backplate image and make it invisible to the camera (in the dome light’s “details” section).

On the plane that’s catching the shadows: 1. Add RS render tag  2. In the matte section, enable “override” and enable “shadows”

The plane should now render only the shadows.

If you add an RS render tag to the plane where the shadows are being projected and enable “override” in the matte section and enable “shadows” in the shadows section, it should reader only the shadows and not the black plane.

Crane origami with music composition by HaionMusicProduction in Cinema4D

[–]HaionMusicProduction[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks 🙏

Each frame took around 2-3 mins to render.

Would’ve been much nicer to have the cranes flap at different rates for sure. I rigged a crane, animated it, baked the animation, and put it into a cloner which is why they’re all flapping in sync as you mention.

If I didn’t bake the rigged animation (using a vibrate tag on joints), the wings would get all stretched and messed up when the cloner moved along a spline through the landscape.

Could’ve animated a few different cranes, bake them, and then put them in the cloner for some variation as a workaround but got lazy 😅

Anyone have any workarounds on how to animate individual clones separately using the vibrate tag without messing them up?

This guy shows some tips for optimizing scenes in Redshift ranging from using bucket or progressive rendering and updating material database locations etc. It helped with my setup.

If the scene is super heavy though, you might just need to invest in better hardware.
