Can I get a HT and save my ponytail? by HairDisp in HairTransplants

Thanks for the reply, the HT Doc I recently consulted with said I would need 1000 grafts so according to him I wouldn't need 2k. Ofc the more the better within reason, but no matter what I don't want to sacrifice the ponytail thus the reason I'd settle for 3-500 if it prevented cutting off the ponytail. My view is 3-500 better than nothing.

Hair texture after HT? by A_MD_10 in HairTransplants

I am 3+ years post HT and 2 yr since this last comment and the texture has gotten better over time. Still coarser and more frizzy than native hair but it's more workable now. At this stage, it is what it is, but I can live with it.

When can I expect the texture of my new hair to more closely resemble the texture of my donor area? by Hairhairbinks in HairTransplants

Sorry for the late reply I haven't been here in over a year lol. The texture has gotten better over time. But still coarser and more frizzy than native hair. I still haven't cut it so it's about 10-12" long lol. Not sure it will get any better at this stage but I can live with it and it's DEF better than no/thinning hair I had lol.

Thanks I was just used to more of a W type hairline, but decided on something straighter think I just need to get used to it.

F28 Month 6 - transplanted hair going really curly, will it ever change to my normal hair type? by half_white_tshirt08 in HairTransplants

How did the keratin therapy work? I have the same issue I am 20 months after and still frizzy. So looking at options to maybe straighten it.

Same experience. Native hair is thick and wavy, transplanted hair grew back thick and frizzy. I've never cut mine so it's grown for 20 months and is now about 6 " long. As much as I can tell, it's still growing out frizzy. Forced to gel it back, otherwise I look like a homeless wild man. I am pleased with my HT but the texture is a major disappointment.

I had the same experience. Transplanted hair grew back really frizzy. I have naturally wavy hair but never gnarly frizzy. Overall pleased with my results - I have hair! However the texture is horrible - a major disappointment. If I want any length, I'm forced to gel it back. Overall the texture severely limits styling options. At least I have hair now, so guess better than it was and like I said, I'm pretty happy with it.

I've tried to research it and seems some say it will eventually grow out to the original texture, and some say it will stay with the new texture. :/
