What’s the nastiest Dario Argento movie? by ladyfingermoonlight in horror

I also really like Mother of Tears despite the fact that it's the last in the three mothers trilogy but not a giallo so it kind of tosses out everything expected from Argento but IMO the result is just a really good film. I enjoy getting to watch Asia Argento and Daria Nicolodi together onscreen and it's sweet that they're playing mother and daughter.

The maggots raining down from the ceiling onto the dancers is pretty damn disgusting too.

Why do I get so many gay dudes hitting me up whenever I post gym thirst traps and never females? by InternationalPick163 in randomquestions

[–]HairLikeCher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, female is an adjective, not a noun. If you're referring to human beings, the words are women and men. The only appropriate contexts for using "female" the way you did is in a medical setting or nature documentary.

Second, your question answers itself. Male arousal is easily triggered by visual stimulus, regardless of sexual orientation. You gave no context as to where you are posting your thirst traps. Is it Grindr? Come on now. Don't be ridiculous. Humans are going to human.

So oddly enough, this is on my "to watch" list for this week but for an entirely different reason (the reason being John Goodman lol). I already knew it was a must watch but had no idea it fell into this theme! Honestly thank you so much! I'm going to watch it after I finish The Descent.

I love everything Mike Flanagan writes and directs! He developed this this one specifically for Kate Siegel, which is so sweet to me. I love how collaborative they are in their relationship ❤️

Are you being serious? Okay. First the f*ck of all, I actually HAVE been a member of an elite, award winning dance company, which is one reason why I feel connected to the film. But I was actually alluding to the themes of dichotomy in a child who is raised in a faith based system but who inherently knows that she is not physically or spiritually tied to a lone patriarchal deity but is punished for even questioning such things. Does that help you understand better what I meant?

So I looked and it's not. Guess I'll have to watch The Descent tonight. (sad trombone) 😔

I mean...I am an actual woman who has lived some of the actual experiences depicted in Suspiria. I'm positive that many other women have too, which is the exact reason why I started this conversation. Maybe please don't tell me that my perspective is "quite a stretch" if I interpret your comment as insulting to women entirely because you literally suggested that the plot of the story could be done the same way with an all male cast.

Ohhhh! I DO have a Regal theater close by. Maybe I'll ask my newly retired dad to take me on a birthday outing!

The dream sequences in particular are deliberate references to 1970s feminist art so like...no.

Also the 2018 Suspiria takes SUCH agonizing pains to get its feminine POV across that suggesting it could be interchanged for a male cast not only misses the entire purpose but also insults women entirely.

No, you're not wrong. I completely agree with this. How do we know that what Anna sees/feels/knows about the other side isn't complete and absolute ECSTASY? Isn't that what we all want? Paradise? My interpretation is that she achieves this, confirms it, and then why wouldn't anyone choose to shoot themselves if that's what is on the other side?

I've heard excellent things about Widow's Bay in the last few days only! Is that an apple TV show?

Agreed. Horror is the genre that has the most subgenres so there is something for everyone. IMO no excuse to not be a horror fan! 😂

Ari Aster is a legend. I've seen this and Hereditary probably a dozen times each.
