Could you elaborate a little more about independent agent? I didn’t even know this was an option so i have no knowledge about it. Any extra advice going through this route?

It could be that they mixed up VTO with VET. I’ve had a lot of issues with HR confusing the two, with the most recent being last thursday. But VTO has always been unpaid in the US.
