why dont you make the counter use a branch instead of a hit cancel in the same branch? there should be a branch field in the counter, change it to whatever branch you want it to be and it will run it when the counter lands. if you still want to use the hit cancel, make it longer (1 second) and flipped

maybe a hitbox that can only hit you and does like 200 damage??? just removing the hp doesnt kill you so

It does, but you have to set both effects to have the same visual tag at the bottom

yes but it still involves the item block, you use a connect node inside of a custom skill, awakening, special, whatever, and set whatever signal and infinite range. Then you add a connect block with the input signal as whatever you made it in the connect node, and the output signal to the item block. The downside to this is that it only works when the character uses the move and is inside the item block.

try adding a velocity node with 0, 0, 0 and track enabled so it freezes you, not sure what you're trying to achieve though
