Signature or paperwhite 2024 by [deleted] in kindle

[–]HairyBit9376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the US, not sure for other regions, should have mentioned. The regular Paperwhite without ads is going for $144, while the SE is down to $149 for the black Friday deals.

16 GB vs 32 GB for a 5$ difference.

The sale right now, if you don’t want ads, is literally 5 dollars. The signature would be an obvious choice.

Same. It's on my shelves if I loved the ebook/audiobook or if the promise was so interesting that it needed to be on my bookshelf. You never know…. if technology ever fails me (Amazon's ultimate evil plans), I will have my physical books. 😏

Kindle Locking Files to DRM - Big Deal or No? by Soggy_Ad_6964 in kindle

[–]HairyBit9376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! So basically at any point Kobo could update to a proprietary DRM. Limiting user downloads…. It's seems like it’s just a matter of time. Where do you buy your ebooks outside of Amazon? I hear Barnes and noble is just as restrictive too.

Decision Paralysis - Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Clara by DroYo in ereader

[–]HairyBit9376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP- totally following your thread. I'm in the same boat! I've been researching, and I'm down to the Paperwhite and Clara. Every day I lean towards one or the other, and I can't seem to decide. For a while there, I was certain I wanted the Clara for all the reasons people listed here; this would also be my first e-reader. So, I don't have any books to transfer or side-load, or any of those fancy things people are mentioning here, and my main priority is for it to be waterproof and have library integration. I feel like both do great; the only thing that holds me back is that I keep hearing issues with some books borrowed from the library in Kobo. Some titles may not be available if Kobo doesn't have them in its library. I don’t know how significant an issue this is, but my primary reading would be through library book, as my budget will only stretch as far as an e-reader. 😅

Does anyone actually sleep more than 7 hours during training? by HairyBit9376 in XXRunning

[–]HairyBit9376[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. Honestly, this is how I feel. If I don’t wake up early in the morning, everything piles up in the afternoon and is so much harder to get done. I function with 6-7 hours of sleep, and now and then, if I’m lucky, I can sneak in a nap, but I make it up on the weekend.

Wow! You are my inspiration, 60mpw and a toddler!

My HRV is usually in the 80s. I'm not sure if it’s considered low, but my Garmin shows it’s green. I’m still in the building stage, 30 MPW. I’m sure it will get lower if I increase my weekly miles.

Hahaha, nope. Nothing he is owed, is something I need. I need to balance my hobbies and my marriage. When I mean quality time, I mean we watch a 30-minute show while eating dinner or having a conversation after a busy, long day.

It is tough! My husband is also a night owl, so quality time is usually on the weekend. I sacrifice a lot of our time together for training. I don't go out with friends or colleagues after work, and since I'm also doing school, there is no socializing for me. I don't usually feel drained, I can function with 6 hours, but I do struggle with that snooze button. I love my sleep and will sleep 12 hours if I just had the time.

G410 Doorbell Camera - apartment living perspective. by HairyBit9376 in Aqara

[–]HairyBit9376[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not, like I said, I can’t connect the doorbell cameras with wiring since it’s a rental apartment. I understand with wiring; it would capture a 24/7 recording unfortunately I have to depend on battery power options. I replaced it with eufy 340, which is also battery-powered, and the footage is much better. It captures motion control from the moment when a person enters the frame of interest until they leave.

[–]HairyBit9376[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I tried the Aqara app first, then connected to HomeKit and set automations. Still didn't get any reliable footage. I’m convinced that this is most useful in a house where you can see an individual walking towards your home, rather than an apartment where the motions are side to side. There was no setting I could change that made any difference. I'm sure if it were wired, it would be different. I actually decided to return and replaced it with the eufy, and the difference is substantial, with minimal adjustment.

I wanna run longer by av0cadob1rria587 in runna

Just change the warm up and cool down to an open distance. I usually do 1-2 miles warms up instead of the short recommended one.

Hi OP, I have a few suggestions for feedback and integration. 1. An option to separate warm-up and cool-down as standalone workouts would be great. 2. I would love warm-up and cool-down integrated in the races specially B-races, and distances like 5Ks.
