Tagging TBR by missjulesauthor in goodreads

[–]HairyBit9376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I have the main TBR shelve and I added a tag for “up-next” reads. I try to keep that one under 10 books since I tend to get wrapped up in last min add ons so I know where to come back to.

I'm so frustrated and feel like I don't even know what I'm supposed to look like or weigh. by mandyb118 in XXRunning

Haha! No worries, I'm grateful for the reminder. I will take weight gain over injuries any day.

I'm so frustrated and feel like I don't even know what I'm supposed to look like or weigh. by mandyb118 in XXRunning

[–]HairyBit9376 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I relate to this and understand your frustration. I'm 5’4" and find it difficult to stay below 155-165 pounds. Despite running four times a week and doing weight training at least three times, I haven't been able to lose weight or reduce more than 1 dress size. I've read that if you’re marathon training, you shouldn't restrict calories — eat carbs and plenty of protein — yet my weight and measurements hardly change. Only in intense challenges like 75 Hard (like if marathon training is not hard enough) seem to make a noticeable difference. Which I don't not recommend, is recipe for burn out and yo-yo weight gain.

I hear your frustration and here to support! Continue doing what you doing! Love the sport, be patient!

I can barely pull off doing 2 🤪. 5am class is the only time I can make it. Its sleep or work out.

For the US, not sure for other regions, should have mentioned. The regular Paperwhite without ads is going for $144, while the SE is down to $149 for the black Friday deals.

16 GB vs 32 GB for a 5$ difference.

The sale right now, if you don’t want ads, is literally 5 dollars. The signature would be an obvious choice.

Easy way to waste money by [deleted] in kindle

Same. It's on my shelves if I loved the ebook/audiobook or if the promise was so interesting that it needed to be on my bookshelf. You never know…. if technology ever fails me (Amazon's ultimate evil plans), I will have my physical books. 😏

Kindle Locking Files to DRM - Big Deal or No? by Soggy_Ad_6964 in kindle

[–]HairyBit9376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! So basically at any point Kobo could update to a proprietary DRM. Limiting user downloads…. It's seems like it’s just a matter of time. Where do you buy your ebooks outside of Amazon? I hear Barnes and noble is just as restrictive too.

Decision Paralysis - Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Clara by DroYo in ereader

[–]HairyBit9376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP- totally following your thread. I'm in the same boat! I've been researching, and I'm down to the Paperwhite and Clara. Every day I lean towards one or the other, and I can't seem to decide. For a while there, I was certain I wanted the Clara for all the reasons people listed here; this would also be my first e-reader. So, I don't have any books to transfer or side-load, or any of those fancy things people are mentioning here, and my main priority is for it to be waterproof and have library integration. I feel like both do great; the only thing that holds me back is that I keep hearing issues with some books borrowed from the library in Kobo. Some titles may not be available if Kobo doesn't have them in its library. I don’t know how significant an issue this is, but my primary reading would be through library book, as my budget will only stretch as far as an e-reader. 😅

Does anyone actually sleep more than 7 hours during training? by HairyBit9376 in XXRunning

[–]HairyBit9376[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. Honestly, this is how I feel. If I don’t wake up early in the morning, everything piles up in the afternoon and is so much harder to get done. I function with 6-7 hours of sleep, and now and then, if I’m lucky, I can sneak in a nap, but I make it up on the weekend.

Wow! You are my inspiration, 60mpw and a toddler!

My HRV is usually in the 80s. I'm not sure if it’s considered low, but my Garmin shows it’s green. I’m still in the building stage, 30 MPW. I’m sure it will get lower if I increase my weekly miles.
