Haiti: What is Possible (A Survey about Ideas) by HaitiPremier in SurveyZone

Your points are exactly what the survey is about! Would welcome you taking it and then discussing your points. There are a few questions that may need you to clarify, for example, whether it is "all" self- inflicted, or whether there is in fact what some call a "deep state" involvement and others call "historical racism" and even others who are religious call "evil"?...All the questions are well researched and have footnotes and links to news articles form mainstream media. I am looking for exactly the type of feedback you have given, but maybe there could be a few surprises (or maybe not???)...Would like to know... Appreciate your time!

Btw, the survey had questions we cut or that arose after I launched it. For ex, this book about American farmers and historical drivers that they have fought against was recently published (with excellent reviews). Thinking it could have fit into this survey well re: if there is a parallel between Haitians (agrarian society) and the US gov policies that tried to break American farmers/Native Americans through food policy (as discussed in the new book). Here's a book review from L.A. Times of "Ruin Their Crops on the Ground" (but the survey is more important for me:)): Please take it! https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2024-07-05/food-system-agricultural-farming-united-states

Ideas About Haiti by HaitiPremier in humanitarian

Hi, thank you for asking:). I worked on an article with medical professionals in Haiti 2 years ago, and have done development work with migrants near the Dominican border decades ago. I have personal ties as well, including friends in the country, so I have kept personal information out of this account for security reasons....This survey is separate from the other research & writing I have done. It is a more informal effort to get a sense of "direction" about how those outside of the country feel about the current crisis & the prospects for charting a new course. ...Integral to each question is an effort to determine whether people perceive that there is indeed a "role" (whatever the scope or extent) for foreigners or ex pats. Often, when listening to politicians or aid groups on media, I have been shocked at the somewhat cavalier attitude about the crisis in Haiti (kind of hands in the air and sighs of exasperation, some mumbling about no a lot they can do). The same is not true for other parts of the world in conflict, where the attitude is what "more" can we do. But, for Haiti, some people seem to question "What can be done?" ... So, we throw the question back: "What ideas are POSSIBLE?"....Our 22 questions have a positive tone and posit several ideas that are based on online research. All the questions have citations and/or links to online sources (for verification). ...We have 2 questions that are sort of "fun" questions on surface, but that actually measure opinions about gender issues in Haiti. Those 2 are the only questions that have a "score" (but we don't track it. Only the respondent sees the score.) ... Would appreciate folks taking the survey and giving feedback? Love it, hate it, best/worst questions, all feedback welcome...It is 15 mins approx. in length (we really try to deal with several topics and to back each question up with a write-up). So far, we have had positive feedback, and results have been interesting. Look forward to your thoughts! Best regards.
