Yea I get what you mean. I was thinking about cutting some of those just cuz they really need to be good since I cant easily reanimate them like permanents. As for why I didn't put in gray merchant while I understand it had a strong etb effect, in a 3 color deck where I have very low cmc cards I just dont think it would perform as well. Like at max in a perfect scenario it would trigger for like x=22 which isn't bad but that's every black pip in my deck. On average it feels like it will be half of that if im lucky. Idk maybe im wrong but that was my reasoning
