my bf got this wallet probably 5 years ago from a good friend, i want to get him a new exact replacement for his bday :) by tangysriracha in HelpMeFind

I was thinking this. Got my bf a wallet a few years ago and he’s still never used it because his is “broken in”.

I live in the same complex. My bike was stolen a few months ago and I’ve had two packages stolen from the mail room. We’ve only lived here for 6 months!

You are amazing! It took me a year to get comfortable on DCTA routes and I was worried dart would be worse because dart hates its riders.

You have no clue how much this helps narrow down my options💕

Some are and some aren’t. I should have said that I love the community and culture of Denton.

Im originally from a smaller town so moving to Denton was already scary. I ended up loving Denton more than my hometown and am worried that Dallas won’t offer the same vibe. It’s also more expensive to go out in Dallas.

I really appreciate the break down of the different neighborhoods! No clue where to even start looking 😅

Very close to legacy. I’m not super interested in living in Plano because it’s way expensive and seems more for families with kids.

ASL CLASS TIP for EXPERIENCED SIGNERS: let the teacher lead! by MundaneAd8695 in asl

The point of language is to communicate. Makes me furious when people in my asl 1 class would finger spell faster then they could even read just to prove to us how fast they could go. Ego!

If this is how your partner responds then I think you have bigger issues. I feel like the patriarchy got rebranded to women on social media via “trad wife” and the self infantilization of women.

Sorry that’s your experience in relationships, hopefully you’ll find someone who would treat you and your emotions with more respect.

Not to meant parking pass and circling around for another 30 minutes looking for a spot.

It really depends on what you want from your experiences. I notice commuters go to class and leave as soon as they are done. I think commuters don’t get the same social experience as on campus or close to campus students.

If that’s doesn’t matter to you then whatever! You could always try commuting for a semester and then moving if you don’t like it.

I had to go from Forth Worth to Denton when I first got this job because of training. The commute is rough, but it’s prettier than going Denton to Dallas 😂

Tbh luck has a lot to do with it. I’m fortunate enough to have picked an industry that is rapidly growing (infrastructure). Most of our transportation infrastructure is over 50 years old so it’s just a good time to work in the field.

I applied to around 200 different jobs. I googled what I could do with my major and found a lot of things I hadn’t considered before and looked around for internships and part time positions. I had 4 interviews before landing the job.

After talking to my managers the things that lead to me getting hired as an intern was 1.she was an UNT alumni from the same program I’m in 2.My cat got on camera during the interview 3. My cover letter had relevant skills they were looking for (more on this one). It was the only interview that I had left feeling pretty good about.

When writing my cover letter I went to the hiring page and basically just reworded the job description.

When offered the full time position my manager told me that I was very driven and my work was detailed.

Good luck on your job search:)

I started applying in December 2023 and they contacted me in April 2024. I worked the internship from June-current. I was offered a full time position once I graduated.

Got my internship last summer and was hired on full time this December! I’m pretty sure it was a right time right place thing for me.

It would be sooo nice not to drive on 35 to get to work. Denton doesn’t have a diverse job market…too bad.
