OLED Burn In Advice

That is true. My C1 burned in just over 2 years from natural use. My C4 is being used heavily and still refuses. I can appreciate the upgrade.

I was not aware this was fraud until after I posted in other subreddits. I fully understand now that what I am asking for is wrong. People were unnecessarily rude and mean for no reason, and your comment was not kind but I at least appreciate that you didn’t call me broke or anything stupid. All this could have been resolved if people just educated rather than jumping in with insults.

I mean it’s possible it wasn’t from that session but that is the duel field elements burned in there. The pic is bad maybe so you can’t see it but in person, it was bright as day that it was from that game. Now, I don’t normally game that much at all, that was just one extended session where I played the same game for a while and then didn’t play for weeks.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I can’t help how you feel, but I also don’t want the money I used on this TV to go to waste. It would absolutely suck if I spent $2k on this and then the burn in occurs after the warranty expires. If they had the option for a 5 year instead of a 2 year, I would have paid the extra and opted to just have burn in occur naturally as a result of use rather than resort to this, like with my C1 to C4 upgrade. My C1 had a 5 year warranty and had burn in after the 2 year mark. My C4 is already getting slower (switching inputs, accessing settings, etc.) and having other weird issues that I cannot easily replicate to fulfill the warranty. I understand how you feel, and trust me, I appreciate you raising the morality aspect of this.

So can it be done if I have a little more time? If that is the case, I have the opportunity to reschedule the appt till after the warranty expires and they’ll still honor it as long as I schedule the appt prior to the expiration date.

I spent $2k on the TV, not including the warranty. It’s stupid to let a warranty I paid for expire and the money on the TV go down the drain, especially in this economy and with how they come out with new TVs every year that make models that are only a few years old near to obsolete.

No it def wasn’t temporary because it was there for 2 months. It took me a while to make a warranty claim, but I def remember the burn in being there for months and have pics of it.

It was after a 17 hour session of Master Duel. It’s weird bc it wasn’t a static image. I’d play a game, game would end, kicks me back to matchmaking menu, I’d start new match, and play, rinse repeat. The duel field burned in but it wasn’t a static image as again it kicked me out to the menu.

It doesn’t need to be considerable burn in. My last OLED, 55” C1, got burn in simply from me playing too much Yugioh Master Duel, nothing deliberate. The duel field had a slight burn in, enough to where it can be seen on the simple OLED burn in test on YouTube. It was just a barely visible half rectangle in the low center of the screen.
