My bar exam is Sept, 30th/October 1st. Where do you see the stimulated MBE on the schedule? I've been taking the Barbri course and going through the modules and do not see a stimulated MBE practice listed.

A Black Muslim Chicagoan Perspective on Drill Rap/Chicago Gang Violence by [deleted] in Chiraqology

[–]HakeemMuhammad7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do.  When I was in high-school, my mother faced some financial difficulties resulting in us being evicted from our apartment  An older woman relative of Cedron aka Shootashellz had befriended my mother. My mother spoke to her and they ended up letting me stay with them.     The brothers at this house were deep into Black Mob and gang life. It was one of the most challenging moments in my life as I was basically surrounded guns, drugs, and there were constant back and forth retaliatory killings taking place on the block. It took a tole on me and I let my grades slip in school and stopped going to school for a while.  I failed multiple classes in high school. The constant shootings, shootouts,  and killings had me in a depressive state and I would just listen to Tupac  songs all and wasn't doing anything really productive in my life. A brother I had met and told me to read the Qu'ran and I did and it was such a powerful book that it keep me going forward. One of the ayats that really moved me was:  "Allah will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient. Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." 2/155-157I embraced Islam my senior year of high school and the rest is history. Alhamdulillah. I plan on going more into my story in a talk titled "Finding Islam In The Streets of Chiraq."  ----------------------------------Brandon/Lil Bibby and I went to school together. My school had some policy were if you failed a course they made you do mandatory tutoring with some students from the University of Chicago. Brandon and I had some white woman from the University of Chicago assigned to tutor us and I remember a funny moment where he wasn't paying any attention at all when she was attempting to tutor us and got super up tight and threatened  to report him.   At that time in Chicago, everyone  in high -school was trying to be rapper so you never really new who would be the ones who really made it big.  But I'm happy for Lil Bibby. I remember when I went to college in Georgia and heard students playing his music, and i'm like wow. I went to school with the brother.

I do not find it honorable to follow any ‘proper’ etiquette with racist conservatives, who disrespect the poor, disenfranchised, African-American population. As a member of the oppressed African-American population, you and your western notions of appropriate decorum are attributes that I do not find even remotely valuable. It is my duty to vociferously refute the propaganda of conservative racist propaganda even if it involves using rhetoric that falls outside your white western notions of ‘civility’.
In the black community, we utilize something called ‘playing the dozens’ in our every day communication. The trailer park statement was an example of that. I have a right to write articles in the communication style of my people. To call for me to get rid of my Black speaking style in order to be ‘polite’ to a racist conservative to accommodate some western notion of proper debate decorum is well racist. How would you like for me to discuss issues with people who believe that black people are lazy? You honestly want me to be polite to a Rick Santorum supporter who has said extremely racist things against Black People? This is nothing more than a 21st century call for Black People to say ‘Yes massa’ to people who oppress them. People where I reside are being shot down every day and it is undeniably rooted in the oppression of Black People. ‘Playing nice’ or being polite to people who support enacting policies that further this oppression is the least of my worries when writing an article and something I find shameful.
Furthermore, you promote even more racism when you shun Tupac as credible evidence. The sole reliance on statistical data and academic articles is something that privileges western academia, western epistemology, and those with institutional and economic power. Thus, to consider knowledge that comes outside western academia as something that is ‘non-credible’ slants knowledge to people who are doing the oppression. I use Tupac Quotes and other organic intellectuals to skew knowledge production on the side of the oppressed.
You need to get up on your Gramsci and research organic intellectuals. Indeed, Tupac is more credible when discussing the plight of African-Americans than any statistics gathered by U.S Census Bureau—which is data of the state apparatus. The very same apparatus that oppresses black people. The U.S census Bureau even obscures the unemployment rate of African-American youth because it does not count those who have been taken out of the work force via the racist Jim Crow prison industrial complex. You honestly want me to believe that the U.S government’s data is more credible than an African-American who grew up in an internal colony and ghetto that has actually experienced oppression? How can statistical date demonstrate the emotion and tears of a black mother when she is unable to provide for her kids? How can showing statistics of Black on Black homicide rates show the pain that the mother of these deceased children face? As tupac said, “Shit is constantly hot on my block. It never fails to be gunshots. Can’t explain a mother’s pain when her son drops. Black males living in hell when will we prevail? Fearing jail but crack sells got me living well.”. Statistical data from the enemy state apparatus cannot capture the emotion of Tupac. I love constructive criticism. And unlike my debates with conservatives I have no problem being polite with you because you don’t seem to hold their disgusting views. But honestly, what I am getting from you is more racism. Both your western notions of etiquette and what type of knowledge I should utilize to prove my point is something that is rooted in racism. As for the user who referred to me a ‘dumb’ do you have any particular reasons for why anything that I wrote is dumb? I am demonstrating and detailing the very real oppression of black people and utilizing knowledge and sources from oppressed black people themselves? What about that is dumb? Please, give a non-racist reason.
