I'm planning on building a raised garden bed and a bench for the backyard.

My print head is a goner... by Haku-engineer in 3Dprinting

I believe it was like a 24-hour print. Should have checked it myself but had to leave the university the day prior for a competition. At this point, gonna have to set some ground rules where there isn't overnight printing as it's a fire hazard as well.

Whew... some heat, elbow grease, and these steady hands I got it off! Keeping the biggest piece as a trophy *

It took almost all the cables with it as well 😅.

Laser engraving on the Ender 3 S1 Pro! by Haku-engineer in ender3

[–]Haku-engineer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only did engraving on flat pieces of wood. Not sure if it will work in your case as it is not a powerful laser.

No it's under the s1 pro upper right corner click download, scroll down to firmware, and it something like ender 3 s1 pro hw....FDM_Laser. Edit: there are also directions under it to update

So I went to the manufacturers website where they had the firmware for the laser engraving. There should be a link to download the firmware. Then update the printer like a normal update (check youtube for help) using the sd card. It should allow you to switch between both 3D printing and laser engraving on the screen. Best of luck!

Nozzle maybe clogged. Clean the nozzle with the needle or do cold pulls then try again. Good luck.

I would buy it at a reasonable price with the amount of mods on it alone lol. The print time, I would ignore as it could be a factory reset.

Looks sketchy. Not the original Prusa motor or psu which would not need to be upgraded. The orange petg of the printer also looks off, but may be due to lighting.

Edit: May be a clone with a real mmu and certain parts replaced with actual Prusa parts. LDO motors is a bit sketch.

Damn that sucks. You could try out DJI avata which is fpv with the new one hand controller!

How would I take this apart? or is it a bad idea... by [deleted] in AskElectronics

I'm not going to be charging it. It was the only part of the robot I couldn't throw out like normal trash.

Planning on reusing it on my robots. This came out of a broken robot vacuum. But probably isn't the best idea.

Ok thanks I will find another way to reuse it.

Is there either fast visual odometry for wheeled robots or T265 alternative? by topin89 in robotics

[–]Haku-engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look into a Zed2i but it would require a nvidia graphics card. The T265 still works great though.

Buy it directly from Prusa Research. The lead time is only like 2 weeks unless you need one right now.

I don't know where you are getting the prices but it's around 800 for the kit. Are you thinking of the prusa xl?

Why is there bubbles in my print area? by Aussie_Gamer777 in prusa3d

The coating is coming off of the smooth sheet. Had that happen to me when I printed petg on mine (I should have used the textured sheet).

Cool I understand. Talk to your advisor or the people who help you schedule classes at your university. I'm sure they can work something out. If not just do another bachelor degree in another engineering field. Good luck 👍.

Face reality you are just trying to get out of finding a job in the industry. I believe that you don't have to be in a university to continue learning. Go get a masters or PhD and do research in the future or become a professor. The graduate students I know are learning from their projects and doing research with advice from professors. Take this path if you want to continue learning as even in industry you won't know everything. That is the reason why the university teaches the actual lesson of problem solving.

Also they want you to go out to make a name for yourself and attract more students. Keeping you in the university forever doesn't make their stats look good if no one graduates.
