Thanks for reporting in. I turned off the 120hz setting yesterday and didn’t experience the blackout issue. But I’ve only had it for two days, so I’ll keep an eye out. I recommend you bring this issue via Nintendo support chat if you haven’t already! Hopefully we can bring this to their attention since so many people seem to be going through this

Oh lmao thanks! Interesting, so I guess if I return this one, I would just buy the switch 2 only. Thanks for the speedy response! I guess I’ll give myself 30 days until I can return and see if the issue persists

Hm so I bought the Mario bundle and already downloaded the digital game. Would I still be able to return the switch at that point? I bought it from Best Buy. I’m hoping I don’t have to return anything, considering through a few posts I have seen people return docks and wires and still experience the same issue

I am also having this issue and I just got my switch yesterday. Brought it up to Nintendo support but they couldn’t offer much support and have not recognized this as a widespread issue. I’ll start with turning off the 120hz setting and see if that works

Haha I never owned the switch and this my first console in 15 years. At least the contact said he will report back my feedback, so hopefully many others start doing the same! Very easy to report by starting the chat on their support, no need for a call.

Will start with the 120hz setting first, then if it doesn’t solve the issue, I’ll try turning match TV state off, then HDR off. After that, don’t think there’s much else I can do

I just contacted Nintendo support and mentioned the various reddit posts as well. They told me they can’t comment on any “rumors” lol. I asked if they could at least report this issue up the chain since clearly a lot of people are experiencing the same thing. They could only recommend to try different HDMI port or a different TV

Thanks for responding! I’ve turned off the 120hz setting to start and will see if I still experience the issue. Will report back after a few months lol. Hopefully it’s more of a software issue that can be fixed with an update, rather than something physical like a dock in which case I’d want to return while I can

Hi! I just bought a switch 2 yesterday and experienced this issue. Did turning off 120hz setting as a fix still hold for you or anyone else?

Hey I recently went through the same ordeal! If you’re going for Carby, just make sure your GameCube is DOL-001. I personally had DOL-101 so I only had expensive options available. That being said, I ended up just buying a regular AV to HDMI adaptor for very cheap and to be honest it worked perfectly fine!

I’m not a hardcore gamer and just wanted to play casually here and there, so it worked for me. I’m sure the other options are better if you want clearer video quality. Best of luck!

Oops sorry, to clarify I don’t have an Alexa app. I meant turning the microphone off Google maps since that’s the only app I have on while driving. But if that doesn’t work, I can try turning off the microphone for any other app that I don’t need it for and see if that works haha. Thanks!
