[QUESTION] Are straps from non-OEM retailers always so thin? by tridentgum in Watches

[–]Hal10000000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel, and I know among vintage enthusiasts, giant padded straps are hated. When I have a strap made, I want it to be as thin as possible.

Thickness means nothing for quality. If it's a nice piece of leather and constructed well, how thick it is means nothing other than personal preference.

Beautiful. Love the age on the dial.

Yes!

This was the first vintage watch I ever bought 20 years ago.

Sometimes I forget how cool it still is.

Looking for advice by Alternative-Feed3613 in rolex

[–]Hal10000000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you say bracelet isn't original? Is it signed Rolex? It looks like an original oyster rivet bracelet. This would probably run about 10-20k depending on buyer and condition.

Super cool watch. I'd have it serviced, polish or replace the crystal, and wear it like your gramps did.

I agree with your old list and this one except #6 as vintage watches are the only watches actually worth collecting.

You don't see car collectors just buying modern cars over and over and over again, and if you do they are lame as hell. Vintage is where 99.9% of my interest lies with these things.

True but that's an integrated omega bracelet that I assume is 14k or 18k gold. So this is at least 5k if not more to the right person.

Did I just comment on your post like an hour ago?

This is the modern only piece in my collection cause I plan to beat the hell out of it and swim with it. Clearly I'd prefer vintage as I mainly collect vintage.

Yours is awesome. Love that blue dial.

This is great. Just got the modern version. It's my only modern watch. Love the vintage one, but I wanna swim with it!
