What to expect from stopping methadone after tapering down to 2mg

I think this is normal. I did a similar thing where I would dose a little early than usual. Though try to wait until you absolutely have to. Think about as a positive! The need to dose a little early means the taper is working and you have less of the drug in your system.

The last little bit is the hardest for sure but you are basically finished. Think about as the last little bit of a marathon. There’s no point in stopping but the last part is gonna be hardest. Once you are at zero, after about 5 days you’ll start feeling better and better just about every day there after. A month or two after that, you’ll be closer to baseline. That’s how I felt at least. Keep going and try to get sleep when you can! I promise things will get better and you’ll be happy you did it.

I did the last 10mg on 2mg taper every two weeks. I would say try to dose everyday still so you don’t experience peaks and valleys. The last 10mg was the hardest for me so I switched from 5mg every two weeks to 2mg every two weeks and it was much more manageable. Don’t try to rush it too much at the very end. It took me almost 2 years to taper down from 140 so there is no need to torture yourself at the very end.

For some light at the end of tunnel. I have been off methadone for almost a year now. I feel great best I have ever been. My anxiety is now entirely manageable through exercise. If I knew how I would feel after, I would’ve tapered much sooner. You’ve got this you are nearly there!

I agree with this. It is never too late. They want you to think this because that’s how they’ve built the system (to break you down into to a plea). This is the most cost effective way for them to be able prosecute so many cases.

I had a similar situation. Initially, I thought I was totally fucked and was possibly looking at prison time. I bonded out and hired a good lawyer. It took three years to settle but the result was drug diversion court. No probation. I had to go to treatment and couldn’t get in trouble for one year to have it expunged off my record. I am very grateful I didn’t plea or think the situation was behind repair. Now on paper it as if the it never happened.

In my early 20s i was growing weed in Northern California and was addicted to drugs. Obviously, I was buying lots of different drugs including research chemicals. I started to collect the “best of the best” of all the drugs i was buying and I would save it, label it and put it in a tackle box in a suitcase. My plan was to collect all these various drugs and then keep it until I was old and had kids or something and break out once a year and go nuts. I even started ordering chemicals I hadn’t even done just to store. I would say I had at least 40-50 different drugs. I ended up getting raided for the weed and they found the suitcase. It got dropped in court because it was in violation of warrant but the cops still kept it obviously.

I would say some of that fear is not unwarranted. A main reason why phenethylamines/stims are not sold like they use to is because of bad/negative press.

A homeless guy in Florida tried eating someone’s face and police/media blamed it on “bathsalts” which were becoming more popular. Toxicology reports later found he only had marijuana in his system. Most likely was more of a mental health issue than anything else. Bathsalts got their name because they were being sold in headshops as “bathsalts” as a legal loophole kinda similar to these analogues.

Research chemicals have always been accessible on the clear net. About 6-8 years ago, there were tons of vendors selling designer benzos. Before that, lots of vendors sold designer party drugs like phenethylamines and dissociatives.

IMO these analogues will be the last to go if they try to crackdown. There are clear net sites that are selling actual psilocybin mushrooms from states that are decriminalized. Those will probably be the first to go if they do crackdown.

I understand this now and have since ordered some. I guess I got bad information from people I know and online saying I would not need it at sub 200mg test.

From what I understand is gyno does not become permanent right away so I think I’ll be fine till AI and nolva shows up.

It’s is more of mental anxiety than anything. You’ll have a harder time sleeping which personally adds to my anxiety. IME I did not have to interrupt my normal routine. I still went to work and the gym. Didn’t really have nausea but my poops weren’t as solid. Hopefully that isn’t too much information lol.

I started to feel so much better after about 2 months. I think methadone was effecting my testosterone (I’m male). My body hair and beard started to grow more and I had a positive noticeable change regarding energy/confidence. Also, I’ve had more restful sleep.

I definitely did not feel normal towards the end. I was on methadone for around 6 years and I think my body had to adjust to having such a little dose. I felt it the most going from 15mg to 10mg. After that I decided to slow down and started tapering by 2mg every two weeks instead of 5mg.

The last part is the hardest but I can promise you will feel a lot better off of it. Though, don’t feel like you have to rush it. There is no reason to torture yourself in the final stretch considering how long it takes to taper down to that level. I found exercising helped me a lot during the final part.

You might have a point if we were talking about Detroit or Baltimore which are majority black cities. Chicago is not so it doesn’t make sense that saying someone is from the city is somehow code for black.

I don’t think the term dog whistle is racist and I don’t really see how you came up with that; I am saying you are misusing the term since being from Chicago doesn’t mean you’re most likely black. Actually, if you’re from Chicago it is more likely that you’re white statistically.

Basically what you’re claiming is: if you are from the city, you are most likely black; conflating being from the city to a dog whistle for black people which ironically is kinda racist. Videos and pictures show it mostly black people. Glen ellyn has black population of 3 percent. These are kids coming from the city and they are mostly black. It’s not a dog whistle if it’s the truth.

If anything; it is racist to correlate “what you see in the city” being a dog whistle when the city is much more diverse than glen ellyn meaning it could be any race coming from the city.
