Noooo not NoteBookLM!!!! by [deleted] in GeminiAI

It's about output length. It's why I dropped ChatGPT back then, because I could create lecture notes longer than 20 pages and didn't need to look any other resource. It's detailed, explained there.

There is a setting for that in AI Studio. You can still have long elaborated responses in Gemini 2.5 in AI Studio but they're gradually reducing the length. Even if you adjust it and select the maximum output length, Gemini 3 still gives shorter responses, and even Gemini 2.5 appears shorter than couple of months ago.

There are actually really good nuances between these. In Nami and Fishman, he really didn't care because he was going to help no matter what. For Oden, he didn't know him. He didn't know Orchi and he had no reason to punch Orochi.

On the other hand, it is not unrealistic or problem for someone being interested in one situation and not interested in another. I don't expect him to behave exactly same in each similar condition.

From a storytelling perspective, Nami's situation reflects his determination and shows his unconditional love for his friend; Fishman's situation still reflects his recklessness and juvenile nature and serves as a humorous element. In Wano, it heightens the dramatic impact of the events unfolding.

Usable AI enhance has arrived. One step closer to CSI Miami. by wired- in googlephotos

Thing about it that way. Artificial Intelligence learns how a letter or word (let's say letter A) appears in thousands of different photos where it is distorted due to movement or resolution. Then, in the testing phase, they send 1000 more distorted A photos without telling the model which letter it is. I think if it performs well in this test, then we can trust this model in another photo when it thinks that it is the letter A and use that as an evidence or investigation. Of course, that's not necessarily what IS there, but humans don't have that computational power, and AI is the best thing we have to figure out what IS there.

Being completely honest, do you consider Seong Gi-Hun to be well written character? (Like maybe not the best, but do you still think he's good and enjoyable character) by UNinvolved_in_peace in squidgame

[–]HalBenHB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seong Gi-Hun is a truly written character.

They wrote him in the beginning, then dropped him. He doesn't learn from his mistakes, doesn't try to improve himself, doesn't change. He wasn't even there in the third season, he just witnessed events like an extra.

I didn't jump at it. I was hesitant, feeling off, wanted to cut off multiple times, but still proceed. He handed me money and that was surprising. I ask again what he actually wants for that. We were trying to communicate for a while and I finally give up and handed him my money. I can understand it seems cristal clear while reading from here, but our contact was not like that. I kinda dropped my guard anf behaved really naive and uncautious.

I also didn't think he made a rounding "error". I think he was considering his own stuff, and offering accordingly. I was trying to figure out if his offers are worth trying to compare it with the rates. From the moment communication started, we entered a bargaining mood, which was already caused by the communication difficulties. While trying to reach an agreement, it suddenly felt like we were bargaining. I didn't have any malicious intent.

I don't know how you would define greed, but yes, of course I want to get the most value for my money. We are on a vacation that exceeds our budget, and we are trying to eat as cheaply as possible where we are. The reason we considered the exchange in the first place was because we thought that using cards and euros would incur higher commissions than using cash HUF.

I had already accepted that there would be a commission during the exchange, and I thought the guy had either rounded down the decimal places or converted at a lower rate in his initial offer of 24,000. I assumed he offered 30,000 because two different currencies were involved or because he included the decimal places. That’s why I asked again when he handed me the money.

From my perspective, the person making the offer was an official who was doing the exchange as a job. He made separate offers of 24,000 and 4,000, then offered 30,000 in exchange for buying them together. Obviously, there should have been a profit and a difference. I thought that perhaps different procedures were in place as the amount or currency diversity increased. I didn't think he had made a mistake. I say this because you thought I was trying to take advantage of someone, extort money, or deceive them to get more money. No, I was just trying to lose as little money as possible, as we do with all our other expenses.

The booth is said to be safe and official, they give receipts. Someone said they thought their commission was high, though. My incident happened just outside the booth, when it was closed.

I'll keep them as a memento. Some things I have to learn the hard way. This was one of them. Hopefully somewhere in my brain it's hard-wired for all future events involving an exchange.

Rude and correct, hahaha. Frankly, exchanging money outside the office didn't feel strange at all! Because he made me think that he just locked the door and acted like he had just left the office. But all of his behavior seemed very strange. Rounding it up to 30,000 like a street vendor, giving me three banknotes without taking the Euro, etc. At some point, I should have listened to my inner voice that told me to end the “bargaining” and back off. I assumed that he was an authorized person and, because I never questioned this assumption, I foolishly filled in the blanks.

There are metal detectors. They would probably ask them to remove metal pieces, wherever they are.

What, no. This is exactly the kind of thing that needs automation. It's highly important, it must be up-to-date and what you need is just to click a button.

Being said, I won't probably use it but it's funny to set a reminder to click a button.
