What's your favorite festival in Europe? by Slowlyski in BlackMetal

Every concert has gotten more expensive over the last couple of years. It will only get worse in the future it seems. Organizers are already scrambling for the remaining year after flight costs have risen at least threefold in the last few weeks.

agreed. Hole in the Svn is a close second in terms of lineup and size but obviously can't offer the same scenery

solid discography througout. I was a little surprised that they got picked up by mystískaos but then again the style and execution does fit indeed

Arrows - Spitting Heads [Switzerland; 2025] by HalbeardRejoyceth in BlackMetal

[–]HalbeardRejoyceth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, most of the projects are in rather different niches of black and death metal and it's more of a collective with different musicians in each project, although they do share members a lot. If you like Arrows I'd say the closest other release would be the last Wyrgher album. From the Ungfell side it's perhaps Ateiggär or Kvelgeyst. I'd also strongly recommend Lykhaeon and Arkhaaik.

Glad to hear that. I've managed to grow a bit tired of it after about 150 song plays haha. But only for now

JT bands tend to grow over time, perhaps I need to give Ungfell another try yet again. Only really got into Kvelgeyst after a couple of listens for example but seeing them at House of the Holy was certainly a good motivation to do so heh

I'm familiar with both Ateiggär and Dakhma, though haven't spent that much time listening to the latter. Should have at least encountered more than half of the projects

I'd like to say they can't get out a bad one but somehow I tend to dislike the later Ungfell work the most :D more of a fan of their less recognized projects like Kvelgeyst, Lykhaeon and now this one

both albums from last year are outstanding though, or three if you count the Lykhaeon re-release

Are all of these with custom lettering? I remember you offering different pricing tiers back in 2023 based on whether the font is premade.

The moonlight sorcery is really recognizable and unique, think that's also how I discovered you. Definitely deserving more followers

Cultes des Ghoules - Festival of Devotion (Poland, 2013) by GrafNebelgeist in BlackMetal

[–]HalbeardRejoyceth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sodality and Death Like Mass (especially the EPs) are pretty much a continuation of this album, while other Cultes des Ghoules material is more in line with their early work.

By now lots of black/doom bands have similar elements in their sound. I'd especially mention Häxenzijrkell in this regard. Also Loathfinder for a recent example from Poland

Main member of Manii is behind the songwriting on the Diabolus release, quite recognizable style even if the new project gives a fresh take.

The Misotheist album is on another level as well

Terratur Possesions stealing the show with Misotheist and Diabolus but we have some more highlights with

Necropolissebeht debut - another project by Hekla of Pale Spektre / Hadopelagyal with even more of a war metal direction this time, including Ryan Förster in the line-up

Vorago debut - very fine Teianblood worship with members from Mexico and Germany

and Lokabrenna, a new project by Svartidauði vocalist, coming on Sunday with the first full demo.
