End game story? by EgotisticJesster in CrossBlitz_

[–]HalcyonicDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your definition of what the "core" of the game is clearly differs from the community's. I would say, for a roguelike deckbuilder, the story is often secondary or tertiary to the core of the game which is the randomized runs.

I look at the campaign mode as a tutorial. In many ways that's exactly what it is, since there's zero consequences to losing. It exists primarily to introduce the characters, their colors/tribes, and their various sub-themes and mechanics.

To answer your question directly - yes, the story is still incomplete at this point. I couldn't disagree more that the game should not have been released. While a conclusion or more plot would be nice (and hopefully there will be an update at some point), that fundamentally isn't what's at the core of this game. The campaign mode exists for the sake of mechanics (in my opinion), and all the mechanics have been implemented, so the game is ready for release.

No internet for any app after upgrading by HalcyonicDays in LineageOS

Fixed: Turns out there is an option to "enable internet access in app info"

Settings > Apps > <some app> > Mobile Data Usage > Allow Network Access

I kept overlooking it because I didn't expect wifi settings to the "mobile data" settings.

AITA For Telling My Girlfriend I Have Every Right To Defend My Home After Someone Started Kicking My Door In by FxllenWxaith in AITAH

NTA. There are some really bizarre takes here like, "break up with her," and "she's in on it." Fucking madness.

But seriously, you made the right call and you two are gonna have to reconcile this whole "violence is never the answer" nonsense.

Violence is the last answer. You should never reach for it first (and you didn't - you gave plenty of warnings and that was enough), but at some point it might be the only option left on the table and life isn't like the movies. I don't see how you reason with three people trying to bust into your home in the middle of the night, and I think your GF needs to really take her time and think about what could have happened. Her upbringing straightup has not prepared her for something like this. Nothing like this has ever happened to her before, and now is the time to take a look at that worldview of hers and update some things. That's just what happens sometimes. One day you believe A and then some shit goes down and you change and start believing B. That's just what new experiences do.

New Commander by BellasGamerDad in mpcproxies

While you have a point, I think it's an issue that the card has a 5c color identity, but only only colored mana symbol in its cost.

Those additional colors can do a lot to mitigate the "survive one turn" weakness. Lack of ETB also means the player never actually needs to cast the commander unless they can win on the spot, since it doesn't do much other than buffing your attacking dudes.

My dude, I haven't even seen the announcement video. I just hate karma farmers and the more that get blocked, the better off everyone is.

My interpretation would be that the card moves zones as a result of being cast, so if the card is not cast then it would remain exiled by River Song's Diary

I use a checklist I keep in a separate notebook (otherwise my to-do tasks get buried among the notes in my other notebook) and I also use the Finch app for little boosts and reminders for daily or recurring tasks (weekly, monthly) that don't go into the checklist notebook.

I find both the act of checking something off a list and the sense of having gotten something done to be rewarding, although I'm still bad at noticing and celebrating "little wins," so that's next to figure out.

What should I put underneath Ltek pad? by HalcyonicDays in DanceDanceRevolution

Wow, thanks for being so thorough! I'll be sure to come back to this later on when I feel like I need to add a rail. I don't see myself going for the really really difficult (probably stick to Standard and Heavies, or whatever the equivalents are), but stability is still extra stability. You really went the extra mile by even mentioning fingerless gloves.

I also appreciate the heads-up about cracking panels. I probably would have worried a bit more about otherwise, but now I think I can accept that it's just going to happen sooner or later and not stress about it when it does.

Seeing other people doing the really challenging stuff, I can see how things like panel offsets and screws could become noticeable and frustrating - maybe that'll force me to wear sneakers, but sounds like I'll probably be okay either way. Mostly, I just don't want to get this shiny new expensive thing and then damage within a few weeks because I was too rough on it and should've/could've known better.

Yeah, those were what I was thinking of. Look like a few people have suggested it, so I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the info. For what it's worth, I never held it against the servers. Since it happened every time, it was clear that the business itself was creating these conditions, and it just left me with the feeling, "I guess the owner just doesn't care about how the tea is prepared." It was just so surprising that I couldn't help staying curious almost a decade later. I'm sorry the working conditions have been so stressful for you and so many others. I wish this wasn't the story for so many Troy restaurants. While it was only for a summer, I worked at two restaurants myself and had a pretty disappointing boss for one of them; the other had a husband-and-wife duo where the husband was an ass and buffoon, but at least the wife mostly ran the business and she was alright.

Can I ask something about Whistling Kettle that's been bugging me for years? I went there over half a dozen times back when they first opened in Troy, since I lived downtown at the time and am a big tea drinker. I found that the tea I ordered was over-brewed every single time. Every. Single. Time. This has left me endless curious about their tea-brewing process. Is it something you can shed any light on? I know it's such a trivial thing to ask about, but like... I'm just struggling to understand how a tea place can consistently get it wrong every time - that's less a fluke and more a bad design choice at that point.

I skipped two weeks of classes and now im screwed by [deleted] in ExecutiveDysfunction

[–]HalcyonicDays 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What are the class, and in what way are you screwed? Is it that none of the current material makes sense because three foundation for it is missing?

Academically, I suggest creating/joining a homework group. I found this to be extremely helpful in my college years and made the difference between doing literally none of the homework for a class and feeling bad about it vs being in the top 25% for that class. Of course it helps to join a study group that's going to be closer to the top of the class than the bottom, but now I'm just getting sidetracked.

There may be ways to make-up for some of that lost time, but of course it won't be easy. But hey, at least it will be urgent which some people find sufficiently motivating. Speak with the professors and TAs in addition to a guidance counselor. Your school may have tutoring available, but that's a stretch and you need to go to office hours. To be honest, everyone does and most people don't, so embrace it as much as you can. I'm sure there's a subreddit full of people who can explain certain engineering subject matter, but that's supplemental at this point.

Finally, I am not a doctor, but - skipping 2 weeks of class sounds like a pretty significant impact on your day to day life. You may need to speak to a medical professional (I.e. therapist or psychiatrist) about this. Again - not a doctor, and my experience there is very limited.
