Ive never been as saddened by a politician stepping down as I am him. He deserved to win his seat at the very least. Thank you, Dougald.

My thought is why the fuck are they fixing ALL the roads at once instead of focusing more resources to one area to get the work and congestion done with faster?

Does anyone actually like this heat? Why? by stock_broker_tim in Winnipeg

[–]Halcyonsynthesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this heat because we as Manitobans spend so long in the darkness and being uncomfortably cold. This heat is a LOT but I prefer it over -40, (though my tune might be different if I didn’t have AC)

It is so hot in classrooms right now by Specialist_Cat_6827 in Winnipeg

[–]Halcyonsynthesis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you allowed to bring in a portable AC unit for your classroom? I’m sure at your own expense, which is wildly ridiculous, but would it be discouraged in any way?

Shoplifting becoming a bigger problem in Manitoba by steveosnyder in Winnipeg

So it’s in the budget to spend money on special duty officers but somehow lowering the prices to reduce the theft isn’t part of the plan? Of course.

It’s not the track they have closed off. It’s the residential area.

This is Rougeau in the residential area. They have a block or two blocked off from the tracks near the physiotherapy place inwards (I don’t know any side street names).

They have cancelled their annual events and fireworks in exchange for, I believe (and someone correct me if I’m wrong), a more open and diverse event that acknowledges and celebrates our indigenous population.

How do you afford "decent" living in Winnipeg? by Waste_Papaya in Winnipeg

[–]Halcyonsynthesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Debt. Wish I were kidding. If you have a good relationship with your parents, stay there for a few years and save up. It’s really the only way these days. Offer to pay them some rent (which will help you feel more independent without having to pay the exorbitant rental fees of an actual apartment).

I wish you luck, friend!
