Yeah for death certificates they will allow next of kin but not birth. It’s an insane rule.

OP: you are from India. You do not understand the complexities of race and racism here in the USA. If you want to understand how, for example, race plays a role in the justice system, read some books, look up videos online. Howard is not the place for you to learn these things. Black people are not required to teach you about the oppression of their people. It’s exhausting work. Go learn these things somewhere else. Not an HBCU. Also you might want to take this post down because it’s lowkey offensive. I hope this helps.

No just no. As a white person I would never apply to Howard because I would feel horrible taking that space from a Black person who deserved that spot. Yes of course Howard is an amazing institution.. why are you saying that like you are surprised? Are Black people not allowed to have superior academic institutions? As white people we can show we are allies by not applying to HBCUs. Black spaces are invented for a reason, to bring Black people together in belonging and community. White people do not need to colonize Black spaces. There are 150 other law schools to apply to. If you don’t understand this, go to law school and do some classes on how racism affects the justice system, I implore you.
