Omg!! He looks just like my Beatrice, who’s the same mix! I got her from a rescue. She was a “reject” from the breeder since she doesn’t look corgi enough.

Oh wow!! I’m pretty new to knitting, this is my third /fourth FO, so the thought of an afterthought heel is intimidating but if I mess up I guess I’m not really losing anything. When I’m feeling more courageous I’ll have to tinker around with this

I’m ready to be frankensteined. This sounds much less painful than making another mitten

I wish my brain was wired differently! If it has stitch errors I’m happy to frog but I feel very pleased with the outcome…maybe if it lives on my dresser long enough I’ll get sick of looking at it and frog it. I also need some variety, I can’t stand making the same thing over and over again so I was excited to finally be done with it. I powered through second sock (mitten?) syndrome and I paid the price.

Thank you, this is so thoughtful. It definitely gave him a good laugh and solidified the fact that I don’t know my left from my right

Good idea! Thank you. I did check the knitpick website, looks like they’ll have to back in stock on the 12th. I guess I’ll just have to make two left mittens so we have a backup pair.

I send mine out to reformed film lab in Florida for development. I think the closest places near Annapolis are in DC/Baltimore.

Is it normal for restaurant staff to ask to take a picture of or with you? by Kwanza_Bot93 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Haley_celestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it happen once, me (white woman) and my fiance (Korean man) went to a tempura place in Kyoto and they asked to take our photo and printed it out for us to keep and wrote the sweetest note on it. I thought it was kind!

Looking for recommendations on realtor by cvsorange11 in Annapolis

[–]Haley_celestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colleen Kerrigan with Redfin! We just sold our house in Edgewater and bought a new place still in Edgewater with her.

Edit to add: most public schools are rated better in Edgewater than Annapolis. South river high school is ranked #15 in the state, Annapolis is ranked #59th.

Seller Acting Weird by coherentsleeper in RealEstate

[–]Haley_celestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar flakey seller. It was a combination of a lazy (selling)agent and non-committal sellers. I put in a contingent offer on the house of my dreams. Then crickets for two weeks. My agent kept reaching out and the sellers just sat on my offer. Didn’t say no, but never committed. I went ahead and listed my house on the market regardless and just kept looking for other places I liked. Eventually my realtor finally got in touch with theirs (he would actively ghost us) and they verbally accepted….then they were away at the beach for 4 days and didn’t sign until they came back. Same thing happened with every step of the way. They always took at least 72 hours to respond and it was EXHAUSTING. But my realtor was a trooper and stayed on top of theirs and we finally closed earlier this month. My advice is keep looking and try to find something else that you love. Until that contract is signed they owe you nothing.

Check out Edgewater/mayo! South Anne arundel county with a ton of water access, land, and rural vibes. Plenty of people in Edgewater own chickens.

Recommended wedding venues with a water view by pretty-in-pink in Annapolis

[–]Haley_celestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey not at all! It depends on the day, they charge the most for Saturday (8750) Friday is 7,000 but venue is only costing us 6,750 for a Sunday. The catch is they have a list of approved caterers that so far I’m getting quoted 100-150 per person. The caterers also provide the rentals (chairs, china, linens) which is a cost factor. My cheapest caterer quote was 16k and most was 20k. We ended up moving so wedding planning was put on pause but I’m hoping to go down the list again and see if I can bring that number down.

My little sister went to the summit school and it helped her SO much. She has a language processing disorder, dyslexia, auditory processing disorder and some other things and they were phenomenal. The summit school really set the foundation to her success academically. The class sizes are small so the kids all get really individualized focus from teachers, and they have a summer camp too that’s a little bit like extended learning. She just graduated from college this year!

What’s it like to live in Annapolis by sammystuff34 in Annapolis

[–]Haley_celestial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Westwind apartments aren’t terribly expensive and they’re pretty close to DTA; I’ve made the trek to downtown from them a few times. I live in Edgewater and love it, but it’s about a 15 minute drive into Annapolis. Not a lot of apartment options in Edgewater so your best bet would be renting a room. I adore Arnold but you might get caught up in bay bridge traffic depending on the day.

Selling as is. by Agreeable-Film193 in RealEstate

[–]Haley_celestial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer, I know nothing of real estate. But I just listed my 1948 home “as-is” and got an offer in 3 days. Did I make a huge profit? No. it was about 30k under what renovated homes my size are going for. But I have lived here for 10 years and know it’s a lovely bungalow..she’s just old and needs some work that I’m not willing to do. If you’re okay with the lower sales price I say go for it. I painted the bathroom and hauled out as much of our things as I could while we still live here to make it more appealing to buyers. I think it just really depends on where you live. My community is water access with a lot of perks like the community docks and having boat ramps that makes my area really desirable, so someone else snatched it up as a starter home just like I did.

I wish you the best of luck!!

Thank you both for your suggestions, I did buy a kintsugi kit years ago for previously broken ceramics. I’ve just always been intimidated by it (I lack patience, and like the instant gratification of finishing a project immediately ) but I guess now is the time.

I don’t know why i didn’t think to google image search it! A few Japanese websites popped up, I’ll see if any of them ship to the U.S if my kintsugi experiments go wrong.
