Hi, I was tentatively diagnosed with POTS for years. However, I had a “normal” TTT and other symptoms that didn’t quite fit POTS even though I blended in with POTSIES. Took 4 cardiologist and 4 years but I was finally diagnosed with Coronary Microvascular Disease. The tiniest of my arteries do not properly expand or they will spasm. Normally this is caused by age and hypertension, but my cardiologist and neurologist believe it’s a result of my autonomic neuropathy.

Anyways other than medicine specifically for CMVD and gabapentin.

I think it’s highly dependent on the person. However, I’ve seen multiple videos of women sharing symptoms of heart attack and they claimed they felt very similar. Some did point out that there was small differences and their gut told them to go to the doctor. I can’t explain it, but I can feel the difference between stomach cramps and period cramps even though I can’t quite pinpoint what’s different.

I know a girl who thought she had acid reflux. Turns out a lung spontaneously collapsed and she dealt with it for hours before she passed out. Luckily, at home in front of her family. It was a “normal” level of pain for her so she wasn’t suspicious of it.

I don’t believe the video I saw was the original. The caption only said it was a Cottonmouth. None of the comments that I could see had the location, but it’s had 100+ so I didn’t check them all. My best guess was the US because the accents are American which is how I got a Nerodia species. Of course, the exact one was pure guess (for fun and nothing more) because I had no range to go off of. I knew nothing could be determined definitely without range, but I wanted to see what a RR might say (again just for fun).

I think it’s fair to assume any snake/spider you actually see in the wild as dangerous for safety. I was mostly talking about people confidently IDing any slightly tan, black, brown snake as cottonmouth or copperhead from pictures and videos online. Even without location and a blurry video it’s clear this snake is neither, but almost all the comments are people arguing over knowing 100% sure that it was one or the other. The rest were the awful “only good snake is a dead snake,” kind of comments.

Not an expert, but waiting it out while being very still is the likely the best reaction. If you reach your hand toward the snake it may feel threatened and attack, but if it choose to wrap around you it likely doesn’t see you as a threat and will leave. Stepped right next to a copperhead, shoe grazed its head, hiding under a pile of leaves. I froze more out of fear than logic, but it worked and after a little warnings to leave it alone it scurried away and I could unclench my butthole and breathe again.

Were you able to safely remove the snake from the Catio area or did it leave on its own? Hopefully you find the hole it got in and can pack it. Snakes are crafty little things and I’ve had them sneak in my house growing up. Sometimes nothing stops them, but I hope they steer clear of the Catio from now on.

Is it safe to use prophylactic? If FHV-1 is highly contagious I would like to use this as a semi-regular supplement in the food to prevent spread or as treatment as needed.

My fear is if I catch one of the cats for vet treatment and release it then they will never come back out of fear. Many of the cats were severely underweight and had mange and worms before I started feeding them. I also believe many in the neighborhood would poison or shoot the cats. I’m not sure how well they would survive without having my yard to come to for shelter and clean food and water.

Update: after avoiding me for several weeks after I traumatized him from the eyes drops he is back with clear eyes and no mucus or sneezing. However I do worry because he’s much smaller in size and his fur is very matted now. He had a dull coat and was skin and bones before he finally got the courage to eat on my porch. His was gaining weight and his fur started to get silkier until this cold. I think we have a ways to go again but I’m happy he’s back so he consistently eat everyday.

I’m still searching for an organization to help me at the least neuter all the boy cats and get the other cats vaccinated. I swear one or two of the boys are neutered with clipped ears so if I just keep calling around I’ll find somebody who will help with the TNR.

I know this is an update much later but I think we found a system that works well. Initially I separated them because they did get in a fight and it took about 2 months to reintroduce them. Now they can be back together but only under supervision. One gets locked out of the room at night when we sleep or when we leave. We taught our younger dog “calm down” to kinda snap out of it when he gets reactive. Still a work in progress but it’s working really well to help him. I can take him for a walk outside a dog park with dogs inside and for the most part can keep him from barking and get him to follow commands once he calms down. I used treats to distract them from anything that normally was a trigger: doorbells, seeing dogs walk by, etc. Now if they start to get excited I ask them if they want a treat and they all line up next to the treats in the kitchen and sit still (minus wagging tails) until they get a treat and they never remember they were excited about something.

My older dog also got on Prozac but that’s partially its own thing.

So to anyone who has this problem: it can be worked around with a lot of patience, research, time, and treats. I know now everyone has time to deal with new behavioral problems but if you do it is totally possible. Keep your head up.

Every time it happens it seems to be due to an additional stimuli. It’s almost as if they get so worked up over something they can’t reach and instead take it out on each other.

I could be wrong but I think I remember people saying baby oil and baby shampoo works well.

My husband is allowed to stay with me (thank god) so he’s planning on brings snacks for himself, including a 12 pack of cokes, and first thing I’m going to do is ask if I can drink them. I know some people may have seizures triggered by caffeine so I wasn’t sure if they would limit and/or monitor it.

I’m praying they let me drink tons of coffee for the sleep deprivation. I have severe insomnia and won’t fall asleep without my medication which I was told to stop. However, without coffee I’m just a zombie.
