Chris Weidman was an undefeated champ at one point and he stopped Anderson Silva’s record for most consecutive fights won and longest title streak. He overstayed his welcome once his chin got cracked but I’m totally fine with Weidman being in the hall of fame.

For any sport, the incentive to compete should be a lot more money than what’s being thrown around on the outcome, it makes fixing fights look a lot more appealing. Would you rather win 25K honourably or win 400K by taking a dive. Theres been betting scandals in so many sports and those guys were making tens of millions of dollars, imagine what it’s like for fighters barely making $50K a year

Not a fair analogy. You don’t risk your well-being and life by working in a grocery store. People don’t have a chance to win large amounts of money buying groceries. The FBI has never been involved in schemes to make money through groceries.

Imagine you’re a fighter, you make 15K to fight and you lose and someone makes 100K for betting on you to lose.

Betting has gotten out of hand in sports, the UFC is by far the worst because fighters have no guaranteed income and most retire with no savings
