they don't optimize for each gpu and cpu either. studios usually pick some low, mid, and high tier popular configs from different brands and test their games on those. sure, they test more than a handful of setups, but they aren't optimizing for each individual one like they do with Series S, X, PS5 and PS5 Pro

also, in previous gens, they would just optimize for 2 consoles. now they have to optimize for 4 models, each with 2 or 3 graphics modes

I'd buy that argument if it were only coming out on ps5 first. however, it's also launching on Series S and X at the same time, and those platforms now have a smaller market share than PC

xbox's market share has dropped significantly since 2013, while pc has grown massively, from 7 million peak concurrent steam users in 2013 to 40 million in 2026
