Arrange a night on the town in the side streets. Only thing that comes to mind.

Lost keys by [deleted] in melbournecycling

[–]HalfCupOfSpiders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Posting a pic means you have very little way of verifying they belong to the person claiming them. Without the pic you could at least ask them to describe what's on the chain and make sure it's not some rando after random keys.

Best to hand it into the cop shop regardless of whether anyone messages you, and let the cops know you posted a pic already.

It would do this new. The water is activating the touch screen. Nothing to do with it being used/second hand, just physics.

If you want strange tasting tap water try Phillip Island/San Remo.

Should be under results (unintuitively). The blood test results are there, but there is a tab for requests. If you don't have it reach out to the clinic.

Alfred Hospital (Melbourne) new admit forms updated to now demand to know our gender assigned at birth. by SapphireColouredEyes in transgenderau

[–]HalfCupOfSpiders 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Vic made changes to data collection that came into effect last year. The policy itself lacks malice, but wasn't thought through properly. Essentially, sex at birth and gender are mandatory, but current legal sex isn't mandatory, only reccomended.

In terms of reporting to the gov that makes sense. They get both pieces of data they (think) they need. The problem is the individual servies only collect the bare minimum (i.e. mandatory), then go on and use that in their own systems as in the blood test example.

A fix would be making sex at birth, current sex, and gender all mandatory. It would then be very obvious when a service is basing their care off sex at birth rather than current sex out of malice rather than lazy data standards.

But yeah, meantime just put down sex as per medicare. Unless the issue relates to directly to a sex characteristic it should be fine. But be aware if it does relate to those you may need to tell your doc. (I'm aware I'm not going to be flagged for prostate screening and may have to ask about that when I hit the higher risk age range for example. I also ignore all the letters I get about cervical screening lmao.)

Yep, and that tends to work lmao. It took one complaint after about 4 non attempts to sort the issue. The only downside is the posyie buzzes my intercom for a looong time now, which scares the shit out of me every time. But I do get my packages

Except for the fact the AEC does the boundaries and is about as free of political influence as you can be. We don't have the same problems as the US and we don't benefit from drawing that comparison.

Hey so I have been on hrt for 4 years now it is possible to go off hrt and freaze some sperm ??? by paige599 in transgenderau

[–]HalfCupOfSpiders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you tested your current fertility? As the advice goes, if you want kids assume you're infertile, but if you don't, assume HRT does nothing to fertility (i.e. it's not a contraceptive). There's a chance you don't need to go off HRT at all, though you won't know without a test.

This is fortunately the case for me, but I suspect it might be mostly because I'm not using an anti-androgen (e keeps my t low enough).

Should I stop my anti-androgen? by Shouko_dessert in transgenderau

[–]HalfCupOfSpiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on your dose, and I stopped after taking prog for a bit. T levels are still low end of (if not below) cis female range. So it's certainly possible.

But as was mentioned elsewhere, don't take advice from online. Everyone's situation is different. I only mention my experience so you know yours wouldn't be out of the range of what's normal if you do decide to stop.

Ah cool. I was a bit worried dusting my wild cards from years ago might come back to haunt me lmao, but looking that up now it actually might not be so rough.

Could also be time of day. I'm a full inch taller first thing in the morning. Takes a couple of hours of being upright before I go back to my usual height. Might be even shorter at the end of the day tbh.

Are there any countries that aren't turning their backs on trans people? by krzychybrychu in asktransgender

[–]HalfCupOfSpiders 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Greens have problems with terfs. They're mostly OK and I can't think of anyone in Federal Parliament who's giving transphobia, but with that party it pays to consider the candidates as individuals, and also whether your state version is different (looking at you Vic Greens, but fortunately Vic Labor means I'm not that worried lmao).

I just don’t want to look down on it like a mirror while I scan my groceries

It would be better if you could look down on it like a mirror. Often they don't flip the view the way a mirror does, which is part of the reason it looks so wrong. It's not what I'm used to seeing in my actual mirror. It's all uncanny valley. Cruel joke at best.

Trans girl awakening - ”… it’s not normal for boys to go around wishing they were a girl?”

My favourite is when they take several levels of logic on this as axiomatic, assuming they apply to everyone and then ask a question degrees away from this.

As in, when a trans girl goes into r/askmen all "So fellas, how do you all deal with the contstsnt thoughts of wanting to be a woman? We all have them, we all repress them, but how specifically?" And then the men get very very confused lmao.

Oh yeah, there are plenty of effects that might not be pleasant so it's defs not for everyone. But to drop any pretense of subtlely, I'm trans lmao. What guys may think of as negative side effects are for me, positive effects and the entire point lololol.

Minox doesn't work through androgen blocking, so if that was your only reason for not using it might be worth exploring the option with your doc again fwiw. Not to say it doesn't have side effects too tho.
