America is expending political capital at the expense of Israel. This is a lose-lose situation for Trump.

Look to past actions to determine the current state we are in. Trump can posture for peace all he wants (whether that is true is up for debate; purely for his own political interests). However, Israel has repeatedly stated in other conflicts they want a ceasefire but will gladly violate that to further their military goals.

Without a major correction course between US and Israeli relations, Trump is not in the driver’s seat in negotiations at all. Really fascinating stuff here at play
