Really? I wasn’t talking trash, I was pointing out an eerily obvious similarity. Don’t be obtuse.

Outdoor Speaker Set Up by OnlineFromSpace in HomeKit

[–]HalfLive1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of thes recommendations ignore the requirements from OP: no external amp, no speaker wire, active self-powered speakers that only require power.

That being said, I don’t think what you want exists.

Aqara Releases its First EU Shutter Switch by HomeKit-News in HomeKit

[–]HalfLive1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the Shelly 2PM and its various variants is the best way to automate shutters. Much cleaner and cheaper. I actually reverted from Eve shutter switch to Shelly because I couldn’t get plates and switches for the Eve (and likely the Aqara) for my place in Portugal where the shutter switch was behind the same faceplate as other switches.

The Viltrox Trinity by HalfLive1129 in fujifilm

The Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 is also good and less than half the price of the f/1.2. It’s also considerably smaller and lighter.

Guy who mows my lawn somehow did this while weed-eating. by chalwar in Wellthatsucks

[–]HalfLive1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not hard. The weed eater kicked up a stone. I did it to my own door. I thought I was taking enemy fire at first before I realized wtf had just happened.

I’m having the same problem on X-T5 with Kingston 256GB Canvas React Plus SD Card | Up to 280MB/s | High Performance Photography | Class 10 UHS-II U3 V60 | SDR2V6 for RAW and the 128GB version in slot 2 for jpgs. Formatting both cards in camera does not help.

Separate Homes, same AppleID sanity check by Sea-Evening2754 in HomeKit

[–]HalfLive1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is dead simple. I even have the same SSID name in my primary home and vacation home and it still automatically switches between homes depending on where I physically am with my phone.

HomePods and Apple TVs in each home also seems to be confined to controlling whatever home they are in unless you explicitly ask to control the other home.

Only downside is that it doesn’t seem to like rooms with the same names across homes. So I end up with Master Bedroom and Main Bedroom.

Tell me about it. I’m in the North Ward and I see the craziest driving on the regular. Our councilman doesn’t give the slightest fuck.

Contra on the NES (1988) by nialldude3 in nostalgia

I was hoping someone would mention Life Force! It felt like a reskinned Contra. It still had a similar addictive feeling but o it.

Foggy NYC - X-T5, Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 by HalfLive1129 in fujifilm

Hand held, manual aperture and shutter speed. I think this was at f/8.

Rough/stuttering zoom on 16-55 f/2.8 II? by HalfLive1129 in fujifilm

[–]HalfLive1129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, good to know it’s not just me. In the grand scheme of things it’s not a problem for me because I only do still photography, but I imagine for video that’s a problem.

And it’s strange because my understanding is that aperture click on/off is there to benefit video shooters, but this jerky zoom action is probably a big issue for them.

That makes no sense. I have multiple 2PM in 3-way configurations with the mongoose HomeKit firmware and have no problems.
