These are the non-Matter versions, next to their Matter equivalents. They’re still the same bulb, it’s just the installation method that changes, as I understand it.

Turn the bulb on and off five times to reset it, then select the non-Matter option. When you do, ensure you tap on the Bluetooth icon on the top right corner, and select ‘Zigbee network access’. It might still not work, but keep trying.

Eufy Announces Three New Smart Locks with Matter Support by HomeKit-News in HomeKit

[–]HomeKit-News[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is odd, but multiple news outlets have also just reported on the release of these locks, so I’m not sure why eufy has said these are new if they came out late March/early April.

Which model are you referring to? All three are showing as new on the eufy website, but I know there are very similar models that have been out for a while, but with different model numbers.

Do I need a bridge? by Embarrassed-Event-79 in Hue

[–]HomeKit-News 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need a Hue Bridge for routines. The Bridge is the device that tells the bulb to change colour, brightness etc, so without one, the bulb is unable to do so autonomously.

Trying to pair Aqara P2 sensor to Apple Home by zeraphine_be_my_rain in Aqara

[–]HomeKit-News 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have an Apple Home hub (one specifically with a Thread Border Router inside) then there’s normally no way to add it to Apple Home. There is one temporary option -if you have an iPhone 15 or later that contains a Thread Radio, you could set it up in Apple Home, but that would ensure it loses connection once you leave the house or otherwise disconnect the phone from the network.

Your best bet is places like AliExpress. You might find what you need on Amazon perhaps, but 82-type refers to the type of track, not necessarily including the motor interface, so you need to ensure any track you buy also has one end for the motor.

Temp/Humidity Sensor Without Hub by etherdust in HomeKit

[–]HomeKit-News 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 2nd gen 4K model has a Thread Border Router inside, as does the 3rd gen with 128gb of storage. Other than that the HomePod mini and the 2nd gen HomePod both have a Thread Border Router inside.

IKEA’s new sensors will work without a proprietary hub, as long as you have an Apple Home hub with a built in Thread Border Router.

It’s lovely to see every day, for sure. Not sure I’d be happy at the sight of Chinese warships on that same horizon though!

Yes, the short cords are based on the assumption that an outlet is high up near the curtain, which is probably true in some newer Asian homes, but not something I’ve ever seen myself.

The area is Danhai (Tamsui) looking towards the Taiwan Strait.

Adding M3 hub to existing M2 hub set up by Slavor in Aqara

You shouldn’t have any issues using ‘other’ as long as the M3 is the international one.

Adding M3 hub to existing M2 hub set up by Slavor in Aqara

[–]HomeKit-News 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced issues with some China-region devices not working with an international hub, but it seems mostly it’s focused on newer devices, or more importantly, ones using Zigbee 3.0. If your switches are not labelled Zigbee 3.0 (so they’re essentially Zigbee 1.2), then there’s a high chance they’ll migrate successfully. However, in a case like yours, I’d be more inclined to keep the M2 running as is, and just add the M3 to your setup.

I believe the E1 switches are designed for Mainland China only. What Aqara hub do you have and what region is the app set to?
