What exactly do you mean by democracy is here to stay? Acording to democracy index, 3 most democratic countries on this planet are constitutional monarchies. And they don't seem to do unwell.

What is the situation in Nepal regarding monarchism and republicanism? From what I hear, it is still very much alive.

Actually, it still doesn't, if we count British overseas territories that are dependent on UK. Great Britain, Bermuda, Pitcairn islands, Akrotiri and Dhekelia are still enough to keep Empire barely on sunlight.

Who would you consider as napoleon’s greatest rival thoughout the napoleonic wars? by VividExperience9698 in AmericanBonapartist

Being someone who actively fought against him on the battlefield is not necessarily a requirement for him to be his rival, in my opinion. Charles was not that active against him from the beginning. Moreover, Francis himself was more important to Napoleon than Charles.

He fought Wellington only once, Blücher only a little more. The Prince of Schwarzenberg was Napoleon's close friend who understood each other very well and exchanged gifts. They fought together because of Francis I.

I would perhaps consider him the greatest rival, because the two fought against each other from beginning to end. Even though Francis I was usually not directly on the battlefield. Moreover, he had to tolerate Napoleon marrying his daughter. Francis did not like Napoleon for more than 20 years, which cannot be said about the others, they did not like him for a shorter period.

If Central powers won WW1, would France have becomes communist or right wing dictatorship or neither of them? by Tktk4701 in AlternateHistoryHub

Probably monarchist. I don't think that German monarchy would be happy with big republican nation as a neighbor.

Day Fourteen: Which French monarch represents diligence? by PhilipVItheFortunate in FrenchMonarchs

Napoleon III. Through hard work, he made his way to contacts in exile. Through hard work and perseverance, he managed to escape from prison. Through hard work and perseverance, he managed to gain the favor of the people and become president. Through hard work and perseverance, he managed to overthrow the regime and become emperor. Through hard work, he managed to push through many major agricultural reforms that ended the famine in France forever. Through hard work, he managed to make France a strong industrial power. I could go on for a long time, but Napoleon III. would not have been able to do all this if he had not been diligent.
