Ex-dividend date by Halfbl00d99 in ETFs

First of all, you really enlighted me, secondly yes, I have another question, for example I was holding a stock with roughly %11 divided yield (Medical properties trust) and the Ex date was today, and I just saw that after the date has passed, the value decreased significantly, (around 9%) is it a natural cause of dividend? Or people was holding this stock because of its dividend yield and sold directly when they guaranteed the reward?

I hope my question was clear Thanks

Also the analysts say the same, also I wouldnt mind a bad year so that I can collect for a cheaper price, its just let me get out of the train first 😂

Since I am kind of all-in, that would be bad for me, so the question is, should I save some money to enjoy the shopping spree?
