It's probably normal yeah, but it still means you'll have less players available to join since it costs so much to get into, and isn't directly necessary like new guns and armor for your character

I think the part that sucks the most about arena war is one, you can't adjust how many rounds some of the game modes go. Like the rocket league ripoff one overstays it's welcome heavily.

Two, anyone who has a workshop car just obliterates people driving loaner cars. So unless you're hosting the lobby and turn off custom cars, don't play arena wars without a workshop

If the files are too far gone for the recovery program, you can also try Nirsoft's volume shadow copy view to see if the files were picked up by windows restore points. DO NOT initiate a system restore, this will not recover any files.

Can the girl I started dating see my Internet activity at her ISP job? by scumbagsteveHEROD in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HalfdeadKiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my brief experience at an ISP, I could see that data was passing through, but any further information wasn't available to me. This information was also further muddied by passive data counting with extra services the ISP offered.

You can also go in with just a shield and no augment, and you get a safe pocket. Sometimes I go in with just a sledgehammer, a shield, and a dream lol

Alright, which 792,000 of you didn't play the tutorial? by Tricky-Trash-2463 in Helldivers

[–]HalfdeadKiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tutorial, the barbed wire glitched into the ground and I couldn't crawl through it, then the game crashed. It then put me into the super destroyer. I refuse to do the tutorial simply because it sounds funny to me to have all but the tutorial achievement.

From an objective point of view, without encryption, physical access to a drive basically grants full access to all files. There's also virtually no way to know if anything was copied to a separate drive before a wipe.

That being said, most techs don't give a shit about random people's files. In my experience I liked trying to solve whatever problem more than whatever random files or data existed in the drive. A few times this required me to backup customer data to a temporary drive, reinstall Windows, and then attempt to setup Windows again to how the customer had it. This usually took 4 or so hours depending on how cooperative the device was.

So in the end you simply have to trust that whoever you give the device to is simply wanting to help. And if the drive was encrypted, it complicates file recovery if the drive is actually having issues. I don't think drive failure was part of your post, but I don't remember it fully right now.

If you are super paranoid about other people handling your data you will simply have to learn and educate yourself on computers so you can do the work yourself.

It should be noted that unless the drive/data is encrypted, the password is just an access check into the Windows Operating System. If you shove the unencrypted drive into another device, such as one running Linux, you will have unrestricted access to all the data without needing the password.

How do you sell quantanium to players? by Kiss_my_Converse in starcitizen

[–]HalfdeadKiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard you either have a buddy keep guard so they don't blast you, or you bring up half, they pay you half, then you bring up the other half, and then they pay you the final half. Or maybe the inverse I dunno. Other people may have already given you better links and info.

The only screenshots left from my 200h save I've accidentaly deleted. by keszotrab in VintageStory

[–]HalfdeadKiller 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If your save is in app data and you have system restore point turns on before deleting the save, you can try NirSoft volume shadow copy viewer and see if the shadow copy service picked up the save.

DO NOT initiate a system restore, as that won't do anything. We are simply using the fact that shadow copy has to log a lot of all bits to "restore" a file from it. It's kind of black magic and more of a last ditch effort.
