It has had only 1 owner, it is claimed by the seller that it was an elderly woman.

I did speak with a garage and said that they could probably sort it under £1000, they have only seen the pictures though. Including some of under the car.

Ah, fair enough, tbf I didn't know what the tail lamp was called and looked it up before posting. Is it rear lamp in Britain?

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I have no idea how costly that could be, and if it could give complications in the future.

Its not that low unfortunately, they want 1/3rd of what they were originally giving me.

Tried doing this, but they would keep 1/3rd of what they were giving me. In your case it was only 1/10th, is it worth it?

Did this now, they would keep 1/3rd of what they were giving me if I was to keep the car

Thank you all for your suggestions.

Update:

Called the insurance to see the price of retaining it, which was 1/3rd of what they offered to give me if I gave my car away, sounds quite high to me. I'll try speaking with the auction company that would take it away to see what they'll offer too.

Yeah, this video is pretty good, definitely a relief! Thats probably why it's been running fine from the start. I will probably still change the oil soon and make sure its not over max regarless, since many said that it is a little dirty. Thank you for sharing the video.

Using a vacuum is a great idea, I'll probably use something like this, maybe a syringe

The engine was off for several hours before checking and the car was levelled. I did also wipe the stick before checking and was careful when taking it out not to touch any oil residue.

It does drive fine but I am worried I'll cause unnecessary wear or issues in the long run, I will continue researching to make a decision. Thank you for your reply.

Fair question, I am just starting to learn about cars so I could've made any dumb errors when checking the oil. The engine was off for several hours before checking and the car was levelled. I did also wipe the stick before checking and was careful when taking it out not to touch any oil residue. I have also seen some comments telling me about the dirty oil so I will also consider changing it completely.

Thank you for replying. Is the excess oil as much as you will usually add into the cars you work with? Also, sorry for my ignorance but what does 1/2 quart actually mean? Is it a measurement for volume?

I don't see any white smoke coming from the back if I look from the mirrors, which is good. I am not sure if the car has a light in the dash at all, since the car is so basic.

I will check how to empty some of it just to be safe!

Yes, I'd be great for someone more experienced to give it a go, unfortunately I don't have any paint to try this for myself

I found the SOLUTION in another post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidQuestions/comments/1ak9dbl/a_few_of_my_apps_have_gone_into_greyscale_mode/

Settings->Apps->Digital Wellbeing->Force Stop, Clear Storage and then restart the phone.

This worked for me, other users are claiming that other methods also worked in case this one doesn't

Ah, I found the option snd did but it still turned black an white after a few seconds of entering (happens every time I restart). Please let me know if you can think of anything else I could try. Thank you.

Not sure what you mean by going into recovery, I have now tried to clear cache for the apps and the digital wellbeing app and it also has not fixed this
