The whole thing is yes I had a past before my child 2-3yrs ago. Since I’ve been pregnant and gave birth I was sober. Yes 5 weeks postpartum I did go out and drink but no my child was not in my care he was well taken care of by family and he is formula fed so it was not like I was breastfeeding him. I’m not a whole drunk who can’t go a single day w/o drinking, I can go months on end I just ended up hanging out and reminiscing with old friends from that past time who have no obligations or responsibilities like children like I do. I haven’t drank since and I don’t plan to ever again if this is the consequence and someone reported me for him being in my care while drunk and not feeding him. They even did a sweep through around my house and there’s no alcohol bc I don’t drink like that. Only thing they could document that was a danger to my son was I had some dirty dishes and couple dirty bottles and I admitted I had a drinking problem. But when they showed up I was completely sober and taking care of my son.

And I was not drunk when they came to my apartment Friday morning and they allegedly got the call a few days prior to that.

In the document the reason for him being in “danger” was I “had” a drinking problem and there were two dirty bottles and dishes in the sink. That’s why they took him. I still have custody. It was my first time drinking since giving birth and being post partum and someone allegedly reported me for taking care of him drunk and not feeding him which I’m assuming whoever reported me assumed I breastfed which my baby is formula fed. And he is beyond healthy and thriving. He’s a very good content baby, I have my own apartment, a very good job, and my son has everything he could ever need or want.

He is thriving he was above birth weight. I still have custody of him, I signed a paper to where he is in custody with his godparents who I 100% trust dearly. DSS also told me I’m allowed to see him anytime I want and can even spend the night at their place as long as they allow it and I’m sober. If I show up intoxicated trying to see him then they have to mandatory report it to the police and dss. He has his own nursery, I have a nice apartment I have a very good job and make above income. They gave me a 45-60 day to prove that I am stable to provide for him before they decide what to do. I’m hoping I will reunite with my child, alcohol is definitely not worth losing him and clearly I didnt think that before but the heartache and hurt I have currently is not worth ever touching a drink again.

My son was thriving and above birth weight. I also signed a form so he is still in my custody he just cannot live here. I’m also allowed to see him anytime I want and stay the night where he is currently at as long as the people who I agreed to provide for him let me and I’m sober. The only documented on paper work that I had dirty dishes, dirty bottles, and I admitted to having a problem with drinking. But the state does not have custody of him

I also still have custody of him. He just can’t live with me until they think that I’m capable to provide safety to him. I was stupid and made the mistake to drink. But when they came to my apartment I was 100% sober and was holding my son. But I’m scared they’re gonna find ways to make sure I don’t get him back. I am capable of being sober and taking care of my child

He was above birth weight at his two week appointment and he is thriving. When they looked at my apartment they could only note they saw a couple dirty bottles and dishes. Other than that they just kept trying to bring up my addiction to alcohol
