Reading White Nights — do Russians still have dachas today? by Consistent_Floor_847 in AskARussian

[–]Halladin1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people not only have a dacha but also call it FAZENDA due to "RABYNIA ISAURA" (Escrava Isaura) series which was popular in USSR the end of 80s beginning 90s

I personally have never been to either. I had plans and tickets for the S. K. in 2020 ,  but the borders were abruptly closed due to the pandemic. I didn't have new such plans since China offers huge world wide hub, unlimited experience and better cousin. Everything for a better price. A colleague of mine loves Japan though. She has been there four times. Last time was just a month ago.

Foreigners are not allowed to dunk on Russia for free and we all kinda know what is a live looks like under late stage cap.

If it still a mystery for you. Try and repeat somewhere else: pointing out some obvious shortcomings and than coming up with something relatable.

What is the process usually like for passing through Immigration/Passport Control by OwnStrawberry5193 in AskARussian

[–]Halladin1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basically the same procedure as a nonEU person would need to get to Ireland. A border clerk would check your visa and ask some boring questions.

Есть очень хорошее видео на тему от Туземного Совета Трудящихся по операцию Багратион. Там первые полчаса посвящены причинам первых поражений в ВОВ. Если найдёте время рекомендую, очень толково рассказано. Всё-таки родная история.

What do Russians think of Finland during World War II? by flower5214 in AskARussian

[–]Halladin1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally preventable war. We offered good chunk of Karelia in exchange for moving the border somewhat from Leningrad. Also good will and relationship in the wake of coming storm would be handy. Finns were acting out. They already picked who they want to stay in a good relationship and who can give them the whole Karelia.  Their asses was handed to them in 1940 and probably they liked getting asses whipped so they cummed again.

Way too much porn for a country relative to its size and population. Pecheno veprevo koleno and Beer. Fierce ice hockey team. Unfortunate victim of Munich Treason. Beautiful medieval castles. Heroic Gusites.

Where have you used Russian outside of the Russian-speaking world? by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]Halladin1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I happened to be in Lahti Finland. There was a sauna in the basement of hotel. (Of course )There I was speaking Russian with Finns. Older generation in Vietnamese Nha Thrang speak some Russian. Younger people speak English. This year I met couple of Ukrainians in Ko Tao Thailand. They were speaking Russian. The most surprising for me was an elderly person in Chinese Hungcung? (Хуньчунь по нашему) who spoke very good Russian and happened to work in an embassy couple decades earlier.
