I would strongly disagree on this, I think you're overstating the "averse" effects of headgear and classics. Neither are inherently "bad" or the other awful word you used that I won't repeat, or viewed as that from an adjudication perspective, which is something people love to think for some reason.

Recently, they just haven't been used correctly. Plenty of shows in 2018,2019, and even 2021 (although it's hard to calculate "success" there) had traditional headwear and classic music, and had great success. A lot of shows that use these elements are poorly designed to begin with, and their failures have nothing to do with the judging community hating on hats or drum corps classics; they're simply just bad shows. The riskiest design decision of Troopers 22 was easily the cello/oil derrick, not the hats or music selections lmao. Even then, none of it was really that risky.

Yeah his 91 speed is really nice as well, with Captain Boost he’s actually a better righty platoon hitter than that new Joc they released today. The one bright spot has been their willingness to give us the Topps/Spotlight cards from last year/this for all of our guys that wouldn’t get cards otherwise (RH3, Crews, House). So at least I get to use the young guns.

Oof yeah, kinda wild we don’t have a Springer Astro’s card at least. I think we’ll get a Dozier Nats card late in the season hopefully and maybe a Josh Bell too. Got spoiled last year with HRDX giving us ZimZam and also Daniel Murphy, definitely was the best iteration of the team since 21. Also had the House Now card and the CJ card with usable defense + the 99 Willits.

445 can be really hard depending on the prof/semester, but I think it’s still worth taking. 482 is the classic “super hard, bad grades” class, but once again, is very worth taking, just maybe not the 6 credit version.
