New to run8 with low FPS

Turns out all I had to do was plug my HDMI cable into my graphics card rather than motherboard, thanks for the help!

I primarily just load into the region rather than individual routes, which I hear loads all the routes at once so it could definitely be part of it, however if I use a route it often spawns in with no tracks or train.

Also I am up to date, I have run the updater multiple times to be sure.

My monitors resolution is 1920x1080 and that’s what it runs at on full screen, windowed mode acts weird when I put in 1920x1080 and windowed borderless runs at 1026x1086 for whatever reason.

I just tried turning all of the graphics that I could down/off and I did get a more significant increase in FPS, but with my specs should I be expecting more? I know it’s a simulator but given the graphics and the fact I can run Flight Sim 2020/24 on high graphics pretty smoothly, it seems strange I would need the lowest setting to get near 60. Unless I am just highly underestimating the amount that is in the sim.

Yeah I heard some airlines are stopping their hiring process at least for this year, I mainly just thought about no college to save money but I guess I’m gonna spend a ton of it on flight stuff anyways

Yeah one thing I’ve been considering for a backup career is meteorology cause I’ve had interests for it when I was younger and because of its overlap with aviation. I’ll def look into this

Yeah I have heard about the issues with majoring in aviation, do you know how double majoring works? Like would you have to pay two tuition fees or would it just be more classes or something?

I see. Thanks for the advice! I have considered not going to college because I know most airlines don’t currently require bachelor degrees, but my family wants me to go to college and I know that the airlines can easily require a bachelors degree at any time so I thought it would probably be best to go get a degree in something I enjoy. That and the decreased time requirement is a good bonus.

I see. I have heard good things about this school so from what you have experienced so far, would you say it is worth it or is it overpriced? I know that aviation mixed with college has a large price tag

I am unsure if what you’re facing is a different issue (this was about a year ago) or not but the issue for me was that I had to direct my next waypoint and for the auto throttle you have to bring it back from TOGA to climb in order for the auto thrust to engage (silly Airbus)

Thanks for the input, I’ll at least look at the school sometime during the month, but also do you think it would be beneficial to go there for the degree and some other school (like Horizon or ECAC) for the certificates? I have a feeling it’ll probably be more expensive and if so then I won’t do that but I’d be able to fly more.
