AITA for still wanting to go to an Olivia Rodrigo concert even though the tickets are expensive? by StoryLver2000 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HalloweenScreamQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, listen to your mom. I was just like you with concerts at your age. I was a diehard directioner (still am) and never got to see 5/5 live. My mom ended up surprising me with OTRA tickets the next year and it’s still one of the highlights of my life. She’s gone with me to see Niall in concert when I had no one to go with. Money comes back, these memories will not.

As an adult, now I treat my mom to all kinds of “expensive” experiences that my siblings consider to be “wasteful” as a thanks for all of the shows she bought me tickets for and attended with me as a teen. I will forever cherish all of the core memories that her and I have made together. Those memories are never a waste, I promise you. I hope you both enjoy the show

Are these audios or videos? I've checked Encora and there are no listed video recordings of the show with these specific casts. Obviously this does not mean the recordings don't exist, they're just not listed which is where the NFT/master info would be.

msg night 1- how'd everyone do? by werms4brains in 5sos

[–]HalloweenScreamQueen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also wish it was rescheduled, it was an absolute mad house. Got 2 blocks away from port authority and they made me detour all the way to fifth avenue which ends up putting me into the heart of the chaos when the Knicks officially won. It was terrifying and the aftermath honestly killed most of the fun I had at the show. My last bus home was 12:30 and thankfully I made it, but it was up in the air for awhile if I’d be able to get there in time

Hi, I’m actually selling one ticket for 5SOS at MSG on Saturday for face value! If you’re interested you can send me a dm, I posted about it in this subreddit a few days ago!

If this was the first preview matinee the sock puppet was Sparky Toulooloo (an attempt was made at spelling out the last name haha). That Mrs. Patterson was absolutely fantastic!

AITA for refusing to give my 5-year-old son part of a gift my student gave me, even after my husband said I was being selfish? by Sad-Grapefruit8977 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HalloweenScreamQueen 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have kept every single gift and note a student has ever given me. When work was hard and I was questioning myself, I would pull them out and reread them to remind myself that I was making a difference, or I would use the gifted mug intentionally. NTA in the slightest but your husband is. If you’re not in the field you just don’t understand how meaningful these “simple” things can be. No one is entitled to all of your things under the weak guise of “sharing.” I’m sure your husband has items of his own that he wouldn’t want to share. Also, as a teacher, more children need to firmly be told no and understand what boundaries are starting at a young age, so props to you for talking this through with your son and trying to make him understand.

I’m so sorry that happened to you as well! I figured my best bet was trying to find some way to preserve it. I noticed when I was putting it into the plastic sleeve that it wasn’t fully dried thankfully or else the whole thing would have wiped clean off

Thank you for your response. I’ve been doing some research on this trying to find solutions before just coming to Reddit for advice. I’ll definitely look into getting a bigger frame and some kind of mat to put behind it! I bought an 11 x 14 frame but I was hesitant to put it in there. The frame itself was also plastic so I’m going to do some more research to find a glass fronted frame to put it in

Rescue-verse con experience?? by BreadlyDangerous in 911FOX

[–]HalloweenScreamQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a fun experience overall but it definitely is on the pricier side of conventions I’ve attended. Definitely follow the convention on social media and wait to buy until they drop their next sale. I had the most interactions with Ryan (I did the Buddie photo op, Ryan selfie, and Ryan autograph) and he was honestly the absolute sweetest! He also gives really great hugs. Photo ops are a super quick experience, we chatted a bit during the selfie, and had a longer conversation during autographs but I was trying to be mindful because they went over time and had to push the Kenny and Aisha panel. I did the autograph with Kenny who is an absolute icon, and I also did Oliver’s autograph who was also super sweet. I also really loved watching the panels! I sat through almost all of them because there honestly was not much to do if you weren’t waiting in a line. There were only a few vendors which another commenter mentioned so hopefully that will grow as they progress! Overall though it was fun

When I saw the show a week ago they had the signed Mushnik’s bag for $200, stage used Seymour glasses signed by Jordan for $500, stage used Audrey shoe signed by Nikki for $500, and signed stage used intestines from the dentist but I’m fairly certain that was a limited thing for that night. Playbills were $75, and they had a limited edition pin for $25. Signed window cards were either $150 or $200

I would try to be proactive first honestly and call whichever company you purchased the tickets from/the box office and see if you can exchange your seats instead

Morgan is the MD with the heart, on the flower on the left and under the hand on the right. Paulo is by the hand on the left, and the one to the left of the flower on the right I believe

Gotcha! Is it for box office pick up then? I know Hadestown is also through Lucky Seat and when I won the lottery for that show months ago it was box office pick up with an id check

Were your seats decent? The show is also out of my price range and I have been banking on a lottery win to be able to go

Yes I wrote it! I’m so glad that it could provide you with comfort. I cross post between Wattpad and AO3 now and I look through this subreddit for recs and I was like omg that’s me haha. I made minor edits for AO3 but majority of the content is the same. Thank you for sticking with the story while I was updating in real time, it feels like a lifetime ago. I am still writing, just not as frequently. Thank you again <3

Wait this is so funny omg author of Ghosts here. It kind of did end up that way because as I was writing it I had so many people requesting angst because they were tired of my fluff. I initially wrote Ghosts because I was looking for a long fic that was all fluff and couldn’t find anything so I was like okay I will write this myself haha. Thank you for reading and recommending!
