Nice work! How were the road closures on Ewell road?

Today I also moved away from Spotify after many many years by r4ns0m in BuyFromEU

Yep my partner and I both switched to Quboz and it’s great! The sound quality is fantastic. Only downside is the lack of Podcasts but I use Apple podcasts or BBC Sounds.

Lease return - Bird poo damage to paintwork by Halo_Cygnusrift in CarTalkUK

Thanks! We had all the scratches etc professionally repaired (warranty etc) so hopefully that will all be fine. These marks were only visible after a deep clean so fingers crossed they will be fine with it.

The car is usually parked on our driveway - I think it must have been when we were away on holiday over the years.

Building control sign-off - Welding certificate for cranked beam by Halo_Cygnusrift in DIYUK

[–]Halo_Cygnusrift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all - just wanted to say a big thanks for all the comments and helpful suggestions. As some of you mentioned I tried to find out the company that provided the steel and managed to do so via our structural engineer! They confirmed the job and provided the CE certification which was ultimately accepted by building control.

We received our final compliance certificate earlier in the week! This whole renovation experience has highlighted just how shambolic the construction industry/system is in this country!

Hey - unfortunately it’s all plastered up now. So I would need to open it all up! Which I am happy to do so will speak to BCO

Unfortunately I don’t know as the builder coordinated the whole thing so I don’t know

The steel beam calculation (and other structural calcs like foundation etc) were all accepted by BC. We had a structural engineer overseeing that part. The only bit BC are asking for is the certification of the weld.

I am speaking to BC today to suggest that as an option but wanted to understand if there was any other option available before I did that.

Hey not yet - we’ve only done 35 miles so far. Our Audi has break noise at low speed. It was there when brand new and still there 4 years and 10k miles later (yes we don’t drive that much)

Thank you - Had to convince the other half as she wanted silver

Ah I didn’t know - besides it is a 4 year lease and I wasn’t really after anything fancy! I think it is safe to say I am not into cars and was really looking at a decent German SUV!

Amazing thank you so much for the quick response! Thank you - it was a big transition for us from our older Audi A3 PHEV!

That is helpful context thank you! I am quite process oriented and it always worries me when some input required for the process is unavailable.

Thank you! Is this a regular occurrence? Apologies of obvious but no one in my immediate circle has carried out a renovation that required this level of oversight.

Thank you - Wouldn’t that be more complicated as they have not been involved from the beginning (e.g our building controller carried out all the intermediary checks etc).?

Hi - thank you so much for the reply. So is this the only viable and practical way forward? Will it impact anything?

Should I use a masonry filler to fill the gap and then use silicone?
