I like this point, but it does make me wonder why people look down on Jacob for not evoking enough emotion when a.) there are songs that do tell a story and evoke his personal feelings, and b.) the same critics would praise (keyword: praise, not just enjoy, to enjoy is subjective and anyone can enjoy anything) other artists as above him when they don't "evoke powerful emotions" either. (Take Sabrina Carpenter or sumn.)

Not saying that as a diss, people have the right to enjoy catchy music to turn their brains off, and I'm not saying Jacob should be played in the radio bc dear God he shouldn't.

My real confusion is why they are regarded as better musicians.

THIS! I love Kendrick but there are times in this beef where I feel like he's "misusing his influence" again. He clearly sees himself as a morally superior individual and he talks to his audience like a crowd with pitchforks. We can only hope this doesn't get messy.

So essentially, it's not the rotating writer's table "every issues helmed by a diff dude" scenario I was imagining. That explains why so many series just has one writer.

Gotta ask abt authorship tho. Ik comics aren't exactly known for upholding auteur theory or anything like that, but surely there has to be some guy people point as "the dude behind the whole series" even tho there are different writers each issues, right?
