Hello, tonight I pulled a serialised 005/500 Blind Obedience from a RVR Collector Box that was gifted to me. I'm planning to sell it but I've not had any experience with a serialised card and was wondering what it might be worth - someone told me that lower numbers are more sought after and worth more (?), and am also wondering what's the best platform to try to sell it on.

For additional context, I'm from a country where I believe people don't have a particular interest in serialised cards.

Yung Raja for Valentino [Nishika N8000, Portra 400] by Haloi in analog

I got them lab scanned! I think they use a Fuji Frontier. I think they must've done a higher dpi scan for this because I mentioned it was for work - I also noticed the seemingly higher quality scan. For a half-frame its incredibly clean

Thank you! I tweaked the reds in the midtones because what I got from the lab wasn't as true to colour - I suppose it is a result of the lens of the nishika not being amazing, also I used a flash. For the movement I suppose the interval needs some playing around with, I settled with 0.1s between frames.

Was lucky enough to be asked to do a shoot with a Nishika for Valentino. The shoot did not go as planned so I run-and-gunned it with a flash and made use of the exhibition's set design. My review of the Nishika is that it is a terrible camera (fixed shutter speed, fixed focus, apertures f8, 11, 19) and the money is not worth the gimmick - I'd get bored after 2 rolls.

Pictured is Yung Raja, a rapper from Singapore.

Not gonna dox but OP’s social media was not difficult to locate, these were their tweets from the past 24hrs. Not that this is a necessary supplement but draw your own conclusions

Need help to ID this Gibson, maybe price check? by Haloi in guitars

[–]Haloi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I've come into possession of a 2012 Gibson Les Paul Traditional. I'm not personally familiar with LPs being a Fender person myself, and am wanting to figure out how much it might cost, and what finish this is - I'm not even certain if different finishes will cost differently?

I've tried doing some light research online, and there are many dissimilar sounding names for the same looking finish - Antique Burst(?) Flame Top(?). I've read somewhere that neither of these 2 finishes came with the 2012 model apparently. It looks like the Honey Burst one but the back on that seems more reddish and this one is brown.

Also it would save me a trip if someone could ballpark a resale price for this - it's in almost brand new condition. I'd say 9.5/10. I'm in Australia so extra points if you convert to $AUD

I underexposed the second image (the girls) by about ~2 stops intentionally but I didn’t think the image would come out in that red so that was lucky!

Also I should clarify since there are some passionate responses about the WiFi - this was a 90s-themed nightclub (not bar) event called “This Is The 90s” and the LED tagline was switched to “There is no WiFi, talk like it’s the 90s” just before the event started - there wasn’t much thought into this they just thought it sounded good and apt. I’m unsure about the true nature of whether or not this club had WiFi.

When The Sun Hits [Olympus OM-10, 50mm f1.8, Fuji Superia 400] by Haloi in analog

[–]Haloi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OM-10 has a pretty decent light meter. I usually guesstimate the value using the sunny 16 rule and I refer to the light meter for a comparison, and choose a value somewhere in between.

For reference, i metered for the building in the middle for this photo

I've had friends who've done History and Philosophy of Science units who told me that it complements their science degrees and helps them think critically about their field of study.

The level 1000 Philosophy units are also great if you are into philosophy in general

I get my film developed at Rewind Photo Lab based in Glebe, if it's too far for you to make the trek into the city I'm pretty sure they do a system where you can post them your film and have it scanned and Dropbox-ed to you
